I purchased these for my Mt. Whitney mountaineers route summit. I needed a 3 season warm & waterproof boots that still had great flexibility since part of the climb is scrambling over rocks. I bought these and picked them up in store after reading great reviews. The fit was great (I go a half size up in mountaineering boots) and I had no time to break them in before the trail. I know. Risky. I was very fortunate that these fit amazingly and gave me no blisters on my 3 day climb. I crossed streams, trudged through slushy snow and wore microspikes, snowshoes and crampons. The boots held up wonderfully, although no surprise there. I’ve been a fan of La Sportiva for a long time and have climbing shoes and winter ascent mountaineering boots by them as well. These are an all around great 3 season alpine mountaineering boot. Very pleased with my purchase!
These are great boots. I have used on about 6 hikes, starting smaller to break them in. The last few hikes were off trail, steep sidehills mud, wet from rain. They have great traction off trail sidehilling, uphill, downhill. My feet stayed totally dry. These will be my wet weather hiking/ backpacking boots. I will get a pair of the trek or hike aequilibrium for day hiking. Nice wide last for my wide forefoot. true to size
Great boots. I have worn on about 6 hikes, the last three off trail. Steep side hills, muddy and wet, long day. These have great traction up, down, side hill. Nice wide last for my wide forefoot. Dry even with stepping in a creek and mud! These will be my wet weather backpack and hike boots. I sized 1/2 size up to accommodate big socks but they are fine with thin er socks too. No rubs or blisters.
