A beautiful balaclava with a fatal flaw
First off, I have to say that I own a great many Fjallraven products and they are all absolutely perfect! However this wool balaclava was a great disappointment; it has (for me) a fatal flaw: The elastic sew-stitchwork (running bead) around the eye/face hole, presses into the face when worn for longer than a few minutes and leaves a painful line etched into the skin. After just a few minutes I find the stitched opening around the face that's pressing into my skin, hurts too much, and I have to take it off. I feel that this item was well constructed, but not field tested. Other than that one comfort problem, the balaclave is absolutely outstanding. Unfotunately, it is so uncomfotable, it is unwearable in its current manufacture-configuration. I have the Keb fleece balaclava too, and that one does not press into the skin, because it has a flattened stitch "skirt" running all along the eye hole.
I'd suggest buying it!
Used this all of last winter, super comfortable, some other reviews say otherwise but I would imagine everyone's face shape is different, it works phenomenally for me, little to no wind gets through keeping my face super warm! Would recommend over and over.
