Sabre Stokage

Cali Boarder over here! I absolutely love my Black magic Sabre. I use it all season even on bluebird days when the pitzips come in handy for proper venting. I get nonstop compliments on it while I shred. When it’s heavy out, the helmet sized hood does the job and I enjoy the up high nose cover collar. One tinywiny wish would be to integrate a thumb loop wrist layer to keep the powder out and the cuffs over the gloves or under them. But no matter, the powder skirt stays wrapped and even in a blizzard I’m toasty with proper layers. Jacket is durable and stain resistant for those high elevation brats and brews. I can’t wait to rock it in Hakuba this Feb!

beautiful coat, arms too long for me

Arms are extremely long for my body. The jacket is rather loose fitting but overall high quality feeling. thinner insulation than expected which is good for high output activities - outer shell is substantial and will provide good protection. once you cinch the very big hood up, taking it off makes it a springy bunch behind my head rather than laying flat. I got a medium and usually get a medium - 5'6" 160 pounds. This feels bigger than a medium. they revised the small to be smaller, so I'm afraid to order that but may do so given the roomy cut to this

Revised WOAT

Ive had the sabre insulated jacket for three years and previously reviewed it as the GOAT. Arc has ruined another great coat. The fit, at least of the XS, is terrible. Nobody has shoulders and chest as big as the jacket is. Makes me wonder if they try these jackets on in every size before selling them. My previous sabre fit great and is much warmer than this updated version which has substantially less insulation and warmth. The new EPE gore tex feels less durable, has less stretch, and is much louder and glossier than the older version. The new zipper and the extra pockets are nice but its unwearable because of the weird fit.

Hello Dave, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Sabre Insulated Jacket. We sincerely appreciate your detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the updates to this year's model hasn’t met your expectations, especially after such a positive experience with the previous version. We’re glad to hear you liked the new zipper and added pockets. This season’s update includes a revised fit, a more durable 100D GORE-TEX fabric that’s free from intentionally added PFAS, breathable 80gsm Coreloft™ insulation, a new chest pocket, and a two-way front zipper. That said, we understand how important fit and feel are, and we’re sorry this version didn’t work for you. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ll be sure to pass it along to our design team for review.

Perfect Resort Riding Outer Layer

I'm a big fan of this jacket for long days riding at my local resort. The insulation is substantial enough that it can be a standalone piece on warmer days, but not so bulky that you can't layer on colder days. The waterproofing is stellar, the hood is easy to adjust, the fit is perfect (true to size for me -- I wear medium in the Atom and Cerium too). I love it.

no good

color is nice but the fit is way off. Usually I wear a medium but I sized down because of all the other reviews and in combination with the measurements on the size guide . the sleeves are about 6 inches too long, what are they thinking .

Hi Michka, thank you so much for sharing your review of the Sabre Insulated Jacket. We are glad to hear that you liked the colour, but we're sorry to hear that the fit didn't meet expectations, especially with the sleeve length. That can definitely be frustrating. Our size guide is designed as a starting point to help compare measurements, but it doesn’t list exact garment measurements since each piece is intentionally built with a specific fit, activity, and layering system in mind. The Sabre Insulated has a regular fit with a contemporary shape, has a regular fit that allows freedom of movement, and layers comfortably over other layers. If you fall between sizes, we recommend going up for a more relaxed feel or down for a closer, more fitted fit; but sleeve length can still vary depending on the design. Your feedback is invaluable. We’ve shared it with our design team to help improve future products. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review.

Beautiful jacket. Runs big

Beautiful jacket - I always wear a large with arcteryx. I am 6’2” 185 lbs. this jacket runs one size large. I had to reorder a medium but the medium is fantastic . Just order one size down from what you normally wear.

Premium ski gear

The functionality, quality and hopefully durability is all top notch. I'm 6'1 and 220 lbs and the medium fits great. Love this jacket!

Weird fit

Sizing is wonky, fits like a 90’s snowboard jacket. A Large feels like XXL.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Sabre Insulated Jacket. We’re sorry to hear the fit wasn’t what you were expecting and that the Large felt much bigger than anticipated. The Sabre Insulated Jacket is designed to allow freedom of movement and layering underneath. It features a regular fit, which is cut comfortably throughout the chest, waist, and hip. It is meant to provide room to move and have a looser fit compared to some of our other garments with trim fits. That said, your comments about the sizing and fit are important to us, and we will be passing them along to our team for review. We truly appreciate you sharing your input, as feedback like yours helps us continue to improve our products. If your jacket is still new with tags and you’re within our return window, you’re more than welcome to return it for free. For more information, please see our returns page: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/returns.
