I'm a Medium with a slight Athletic Build, I can wear a North Face Junction Insulated Jacket and a North Face Ventrix Jacket in the Medium Size without any problem. For the Marmot Novus, the length is perfect and I can zip up with no problems (should be able to layer a fleece zip or vest inside), just the arms are tight. Basically I feel that I can rip the sleeves around the shoulders if I'm lifting my arms up to put something into the overhead compartment. If there was more room around the shoulders or even if the material is more flexible, would definitely give this jacket full five stars. The material is light and feels very comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has worked very well at 25-45F when strolling in the woods or in town. Very pleased with how breathable it is and how warm it is able to go without needing to remove it.. It has been mild this winter so I have been wearing the novus lt hybrid a hint more. But when the weather gets colder, looking forward to wearing this as a midlayer for snowboarding (5F-20F) Really like the flexibility and fit. Despite being made of nylon, it is soft and comfortable against skin. Does not tug at the shoulders when doing windmills and moving my arms around. Medium probably would have worked, but was just a bit too restrictive for me so I went with the large.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had bought the Novus light last year for walking in colder temperatures. It worked so well I knew I had to have the regular Novus for even colder temperatures. This jacket is everything the light version is. It’s just warmer. I have been enjoying it well down into the low 30’s F, when going to the store or running errands. Both jackets work great as stand alone jackets or as a mid layer or cover for a mid layer when the temps turn even colder. The only negative I found is the inside and outside of the jacket are the same color and like material, and a couple of times I almost put it on inside out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't find the Men's WarmCube Active Novus Hoody in the list. I picked one up an Auburn Men's WarmCube Active Novus Hoody up last year. The fit is remarkable and comfortable. The WarmCube design disipates extra heat when it warms up and it kept me toasty down to -30C. I got caught in a rainstorm, and although it got a little wet, I stayed dry and the jacket dried very quickly without any extra effort. The colour of the jacket was brighter than on the website, which was a good surprise. The material is robust and the sleeve length was just right. I was impressed by the hood that it covered my head and stayed on without impeding my view. It was warm enough that I didn't need a hat underneath. The design of this jacket is perfect for casual to medium light activities in late fall all the way into winter chill. It is not completely windproof, but the warmth it provides overcomes and wind that gets through. Adding one layer beneath it, makes it perfect for freezing temperatures. I would buy this jacket again and again.
I love this thing. I bought 3 of them size is exactly same .real colors better than photos
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As others have said, this is a great, toasty jacket - the warmest non-down jacket in my closet, which is exactly why I bought it. I love everything about it except that the arms are tight. I'm an old distance runner & a long way from having giant arms, but especially in the forearms this is on the edge of too tight, even with nothing but a T underneath. I can take tight arms in a fleece jacket and while I can't imagine I'd try to layer under this, it would be impossible. I have several Marmot jackets (6-7?) from different years & styles and have never worn anything but a L. Moving up to an XL seems like a mistake since the jacket fits great everywhere else and I'm not looking for a big baggy puffy. Still thinking about whether to return it or not.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 5'8" with an athletic build and spend the majority of my day outside almost every day. This is hands down the best hoody I own. It keeps me warm when it's cold outside, doesn't over-heat with (reasonable) activity, and looks professional if this style is acceptable in your workplace. I also have kids in my house and this jacket has been no stranger to food, dirt, or debris. It was washed well, maintaining it's size, color, and feel. It also layers well with a shell for protection against wet weather.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jacket is slightly puffy which makes it feel very cozy to wear. Love the materials, well made, comfortable, and mostly fits nicely except the sleeves are a bit long. For anyone interested in the Dark Azure color, be aware that the photos online don’t accurately represent the real color in person. Online looks like it’s a bright vibrant blue. In reality, it’s more of a darker royal blue (which looks gorgeous but not what I was expecting). Still love it though.
Purchased the Red Novus Hoody about a month ago on impulse due to the color and loving it. Have been using it in the 20’s and 30’s typically with a long sleeve base and fleece vest and I believe it keeps me warmer than another jacket I use made by Pgonia that has “puff” in the title…. I’d recommend just keeping an eye on preventing from rubbing up on anything coarse or sharp that could rip the thin outer of this jacket. Definitely recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely has an athletic fit to it, but I wear large in all other jackets and this one fits perfectly. I'm between 5'-11" and 6' with broad shoulders, 44" chest, so the next size down definitely wouldn't fit. Looks good, really warm, wind resistant, comfortable. Plus, it has the nice elastic wristbands to keep the sleeves from draping over your hands, which is a huge pro. Marmot crushed it with this one.
