Rubber soles 👍
After many years and many pairs of Birks”I found these to possibly take care of the shortcomings of the original design. The rubber sole take care of all the abuse the standard sole configuration takes. I have used barge cement coating the exposed cork sole, resole the shoes only to wear out again by breaking and flaking away. So I’m looking forward to putting these to the test. The oiled leather uppers look like they will be fantastic and warm during the colder months
Worth the extra cost
The best of the traditional Birkenstock Boston but way more durable. I was getting ready to pay nearly what these cost to resole my old Bostons with Vibram soles. I have the Arizona version as well and they are way more durable than the traditional soles. Worth the extra cost.
Narrow opening and different footbed
I am an avid Birkenstock user having many different models since my college days (40 years ago). I really wanted to like this new style that looks to be more durable with a great tread. However, I tried 2 sizes in the house over a 2 week period and found the arch was too forward and the shoe opening too small for my foot to easily enter. After 2 weeks I gave up and returned before I developed plantar fasciitis. Maybe it is me, I found these clogs much different than my other Birkenstock including an old pair of Boston clogs.
1St birkenstocks
First pair of birkenstocks. I've always heard good things about them and how it takes awhile to "break them in". Sure hope those folks are right, because they're anything but comfortable so far.
STURDY SOLE for sturdy souls
look super durable, and should mitigate the drop in quality/reliability/durability experienced since LV bought Birk
super happy with these
After the 2-3 week break-in period these are now my favorite walking shoes — super comfortable.
