Arc'teryx Norvan Jacket - Men's
An ultralight solution for running in the rain, this Arc'teryx jacket is highly breathable while keeping you dry. The waterproof fabric allows sweat to escape without letting outside moisture in.
- Windproof, waterproof, breathable, lightweight, durable and packable
- Updated with lighter, more durable and PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE with a recycled face, delivering complete waterproof, windproof and breathable protection
- Design updates include large reflective branding for low-light visibility, added ventilation, updated cuff construction paired with a wrist-watch window and a packable pocket
- This jacket is free of intentionally added PFAS; the ePE membrane technology is lighter and thinner, but just as strong and durable as materials used by Arc'teryx before
- You may notice the face fabric "wetting out" slightly faster in products with ePE membranes, but this does not affect the waterproofing of the membrane itself
- If the fabric is wetting out faster than you'd like, wash and dry the jacket to remove oil contamination and bring the durable water repellent (DWR) back to its full power
- GORE C-KNIT™ backer technology is quiet, soft next your skin, highly breathable and made with recycled content
- RECCO® reflector aids search and rescue in emergency situations
- Fitted with articulated patterning for mobility and comfort
- Ergonomic seam lines minimize irritation
- Low-profile hood; adjustable hood drawcord with single-pull adjuster
- Vents under the arms and at the back yoke provide temperature-regulating airflow
- Small integrated window in each sleeve allows you to see your watch
- Laminated cuffs
- Encased elastic at the cuffs and hem seal out drafts
- Zippered hip pocket; stows away in its own pocket
- Reflective elements increase visibility in low light
- Contains materials that meet the bluesign® criteria
- Dope-dyed backer; dope dye uses significantly less water and energy in the dyeing process
- PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) compliant; recycled content

Amazing for tech purposes.
It is highly specialized for running in cooler, windy and wet weather. Streamlined w/o storage so your belt or vest fit nicely. Have used at 5°c to 10°c w/o any base layer, but things got sweaty and hot. Perfect for 5°C to -5°C in just a t-shirt as a base layer (depending on how hot you run;). -5°C to -10°C, layer accordingly (think or thicker base layer). Have also used this climbing on windy days, and for x-country skiing down to -8°C in wind. Still no rips from sharp limestone rocks in Canada, still no wear under the pits from rubbing. Super lightweight, packs easy. Breathes ok if you are not a heavy sweater, but above 5°C, you will be soaked. Great in light rain- never tried in heavy rain. While skiing, geat in light dry, snow, but not as great in heavy wet snowfall. Definitely an amazing tech purchase for running. Looks good around town as well, but doesn't really function as a fashion piece, since it is built for moving in, not standing still. Recommend purchasing if you need a light running coat for cooler 5° to cold -10° (when layered properly) weather.
Amazing For It's Intended Use (HARSH Weather)
A peak 4/5 jacket that'd be 5 stars if it was more breathable and cheaper. This isn't the jacket for you if you want to run during peak, humid summers and expect breathability – way too hot inside the jacket for that. On the contrary, it is amazing during cool fall showers. I recently wrapped up a 100k where it thunderstormed the entirety of the night, and hit temperatures of about 50 degrees Farrenheit. Using the jacket mostly in the summer, wasn't really a fan especially at the price point. But after my race, I completely changed my view on it. It is GREAT for extreme weather, I didn't feel any water get through (and I mean it was POURING) and my body temperature felt well regulated. Additionally, the holes around the wrists meant for peaking at your watch are pretty cool – thought they were ridiculous at first but certainly practical! The slim cut of the jacket is nice too if you're shorter like me. If you want breathability during hotter months (which is a hard ask if you want true rainproof ability), maybe just go for an Incendo or something not necessarily waterproof. If you are in extreme precipitation often where it isn't so hot, the Norvan is better suited.
Mediocre
The main pull tab came off in a month, the wrist slits are incredibly annoying and unnecessary
Dynasty Red - High Visibilty, but Stylish
Excellent jacket. Lightweight, packable (fits in a backpack easily). I like the red colour because it is stylish, but provides good visibility so it is easier for drivers and search and rescue to find you. A lot of other bright colours aren't so nice to look at. I hope Arcteryx continues making garments with Dynasty Red. I also like the reflective material on the sleeves. This helps when it is dark out. Other positives are it uses the new PFAS free Gore-Tex.
Wish I could return it
Yet another failed garment from Arc’teryx. Was great for the first couple runs, now wets out in even a very light rain/drizzle within seconds. Its been washed, treated by both myself and Arcteryx multiple times with no change in its terrible performance, and no option to recoup my lost funds which is particularly painful given how unreasonably expensive this piece of trash is. A cotton t shirt provides about as much protection. Truly awful product, baffled by the good reviews here, but there’s a ton of terrible reviews available with a quick google search, seems I’m not the only who expects a rain jacket to actually protect me from the rain. Looking forward to the AI generated response below where I’ll be instructed to reach out to warranty support to have them tell me yet again that a refund isn’t possible and instead I should be happy with 20% off another piece of Arcteryx garbage. This brand sucks so bad.
Great Jacket
This is the first time I’ve taken the time to write a review on anything, ever. This jacket is awesome. The fit is more relaxed than my older jacket and it’s great for layering. I love the watch cut out and location of the pocket at the back, which is perfect for my key. Nice light-weight material. Perfect!
My favorite jacket
I started winter running and this jacket provides the wind block to make that possible with a light base layer. It’s incredibly light and has many great features such as the watch view in the arms and the breathable vents on the back
Trail runner
If you are a runner this is the coat. I originally tried the more expensive gortex coat but it was too stiff (tarp material) I only wish this came in the purple colour cause I would buy that colour too.
Best running jacket!!!
Manteau parfait pour la course. Léger, imperméable et respirant. De plus la coupe est suffisant ample pour être à l'aise lors des courses!
My best running jacket
A really light jacket, making it perfect for running or as a jacket to pack for bad weather. Very good rain and wind protection.
