Imported.

Temperature ratings are intended as a guideline to help you compare products, rather than a guarantee of warmth, since many different factors contribute to your comfort while you sleep. Backpacking bags are typically rated for temperature according to an independent testing protocol—currently International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 23537, though some older items followed European Norm (EN) 13537. Testing is based on a person wearing one base layer and a pair of socks, sleeping on an insulated surface with a minimum R-value of 5.38.

Each bag then gets 2 ratings: the Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "cold sleeper" comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "warm sleeper" comfortable. Some brands determine their own temperature rating by aligning to the Comfort rating for women’s bags, to the Lower Limit rating for men’s bags, or somewhere in the middle for nongendered bags.

What were they thinking?

This my 3rd Marmot bag I have a -40 winter bag, and a synthetic all around beater bag. I have been more than happy with Marmot quality and construction, I purchased this extra light summer bag for a long bike packing trip. All I can say is this 3 zipper design is a disaster! Instead of just climbing in a zipping up, being as the upper zippers are only about 1 1/2 feet long you must perform a hip arching, leg kicking squirming maneuver to get inside. Could anyone explain how this was possibly considered a good idea? It’s a shame too, other than this one fatal design flaw this bag checked all the boxes, nice quality, very light and once you have managed to somehow get inside it’s plenty warm for summer use. Two more shortcomings that come to mind with this absurd zipper arrangement: you will never be able to unzip it and use as a quilt, cover up, etc which I think most people have on occasion used a sleeping bag for. A trick I learned backpacking with my parents as a child, if you have a chance open up your bag in the sunshine and it is amazing how fresh and unfunky it will become, you will never do that with this bag.

This bag is perfect for the summer months I have hived a hundred miles with it and it is still in great condition you may need to buy a pack liner but it is still an amazing pack.
