I love that this has a hood and baklava, and is long enough in the arms to comfortably hook my thumbs, and works with my broad shoulders. For reference I bought the M and I’m 5’ 8” and 155 lbs. feels really warm although I have yet to wear it in the snow.
I'm not a skier but I live in Michigan with a large driveway and now I'm quite comfortable when I have to clear snow. The balaclava and the sleeves with thumb holes stop the drafts and heat loss when outside and I don't overheat when back inside. Washes up nicely.
I wanted something that wouldn't fall off my head in my sleep, and we found a winner. The openings are well placed and flexible enough to accommodate various shapes and sizes. I love the overlap design, so if you dont use the thumb or ponytail slots, its not a cold spot. Toward the end of a week and a half without wash, the face covering started losing some stretch. Even if the band doesn't hold up, I'd tailor it to keep the rest. We'll see how it holds up throughout the season, but I have high hopes.
Absolutely love this base layer. Even on the coldest days I simply need this and a shell. Has held up for many winter outings. It’s my go to for cold weather backpacking. Highly recommend!
