Love this shell jacket!
Solid waxed canvas shell that looks fantastic! Got this before my trip to Japan in November and it held up with the wind, cold, and rain. Great layering piece, worked great without fully soaking through when I was caught in the rain, impressed that I stayed fairly dry in only a waxed canvas shell. Great chest pockets that had an insulated mesh inner packet for my smartphone. Side vents instead of side pockets lined up perfectly with the side pockets on my mid layer Keb Wind Jacket. Storm hood protected my noggin even when wearing a hat. Would work over a helmet if I ever need that. Plus I love the shade of green. Highly recommend!
Good design. Be warned: vulnerable to abrasion/rip
Breathes well, even in torrential downpours in the PNW. Water resistant, not water proof. (is there truly such thing as water proof?) Waxed fabric is a great alternative to Gore-Tex if one understands and accepts the tradeoffs. Great fit. Love the design of the giant breast zip pockets. Hidden inner vent side pockets are a nice touch. Allows reduced weight and maintains utility. Disappointed in the fabric ultimately. Bumped up against a street sign post while walking my dog and ripped the fabric on my 2nd time wearing the jacket. Obviously not covered under warranty. Rip stop nylon would have held up to this. Things to consider. Overall I look forward to continued use and curious how it will hold up to repeat Greenland wax treatments/washes over time.
Overrated Brand
First of all this product is average. I’m sure that it’s not suit for real mountain conditions, which is stated by brand specifications. Cut is good looks cool but if you guys consider to buy this product like really brutal conditions, hiking, and mountaining events, you should more prepared. I mean extra layers with this product.
Pretty much exactly what I was looking for.
Just received. Love the look and the hand warmer zips. Looks and feels top notch. I have a tendency to wear around sharp objects and ruined a previous jacket because of that. I hope to never test this beauty. Only mark against is that it has oddly long arm length. Im 5'5, 160lb and went with a small.
