Great alternative to R series with a caveat.
Bought as an alternative to my R1 and R2, as it keeps me a bit warmer on a cold breazy day without the bulk of a R2 Techface. The Caveat is that the fabric does tend to hold sweat odors more than other brands that use a treatment in their fabrics. I find that I have to launder it more often, as a simple airing out doesn't do the trick like with the Patagonia R fabrics. For those who complain about the zippers, all European brands have "reversed" zippers (no such thing as male/female zippers in Europe). You get used to it very quickly if you own the premier European brands (Mammut, Norrona, Fjallraven, Mountain Equipment, RAB, etc).
Best Grid Fleece On The Market
Currently own three of these in different color ways. Amazing quality. Keeps you warm yet breathable. Medium is a perfect fit. Looks great for both casual and formal attire. Very versatile and comfortable. I love grid fleece hoodies and own more than I should admit from different companies but the Abisko Grid Fleece easily stands out from the rest. 5/5. Would absolutely recommend.
One Little Complalmt
I bought this hoodie and will keep it, but I have one tiny issue. This hoodie was sold as “mens” and men’s clothing typically has the traveling part of the zipper on the tight side . This one is reversed. Put another way, the zipper was sewn on backwards. Should it make a difference? No. However, one just just used to right-hand zipper after a lifetime thereof.
main zipper not the vest
I really like this jacket, but the main zipper is really annoying. The other zippers are awesome and the jacket but the main one only works if you line it up with the bottom zipper.
