Good cold weather layer, reflective details
I purchased this for cold weather running to wear with a running vest. Specifically I wanted the reflective details for running in lower light conditions. I'm usually a Missy 6 or 8 and I purchased the medium so I could layer a wool tank top underneath. The medium has plenty of room and I probably could have still layered if I had purchased the small. The garment worked fine for my first cold weather run (~32 F, snowing lightly with wind gusts) and wash (cool water MW, inside out, & rack dry). PROS: Reflective details on center back/arms/raglan seams, built- in balaclava with ponytail opening and face venting that acts as a neck gaiter when not used as a balaclava, thumbholes in generous length sleeves, first top I have purchased that has watch flap (nice!), fabric feels slightly brushed inside and should be warmer for those teen-twenty degree runs, the reflective seams on the chest seem to be part of the fabric and are highly reflective, torso material is high-viz yellow. CONS: Reflective details on the arms are screen printed on so I question the longevity of the reflective characteristics over repeated washing, the high-viz yellow material is an odd fabrication that wrinkles easily. You can launder it and it might still look like it was crumpled up in the clothes hamper for a week. It would be nice to have highly reflective details/ fabric incorporated into the arms for wearing with a vest. In a perfect world, this top would have a zippered pocket somewhere (kangaroo, back, sleeves...), and maaaybe a high-low hem with reflective details on the hem/seam. I'm not sure how useful the balaclava feature will be for me, but it's nice to have it just in case my crazy gets going this winter. Overall, this top is just shy of 5 stars.
