A little bit bigger than I thought. It’s supposedly the same size (10L) as the North Face Borealis Mini, but it is definitely larger, but not a deal-breaker. The back is rather stiff. The front zipper on the side is more for right-handers is a non-issue IMO, but then again, I’m right handed. It’ll do just fine as my larger EDC bag.
I was soo excited to get this daypack in the mail and upon opening exceeded all of my expectations. It's the perfect bag for my daily commute and fits all of my essentials (MBA, iPad, AirPods, etc.) I tend to pack and carry light and this daypack fits perfectly. I'm small so larger bags and backpacks tend to look awkward and feel uncomfortable, but this bag hit the nail on the head. Just wish it had the water bottle sleeve on the side, but there's enough room to comfortably fit a smaller one on the inside. Would def recommend and telling all my friends and family!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bag! My goal was to find the smallest, most low-profile backpack for my 13” laptop and the Arcane small is the best I’ve found. In fact, I loved it so much I bought it in a 2nd color! The interior organizational pockets are perfect for holding smaller items, and it comfortably fits a water bottle and rain jacket with room to spare. My only complaints are the stretchy pocket on the strap seems too small to be functional (what are y’all putting in there??) and I wish the front zipper were on the opposite side (just a personal preference).
Love the backpack size, but it's driving me crazy that zipper doesn't go all the way down on one side. So much space is wasted on nothing, why no water bottle on that spot like Large Day has or just make it close to wide opening from both sides like v1 of this bag? It looks unfinished, it feels like it was designed with a bottle pocket but then changed at the last moment. Last but not least, to make it a true Day Pay, I wish it had some hidden pocket at the back for valuables such as passport/wallet/phone. Wish v3 would fix these 2 points.
I bought this backpack in a store and absolutely love it. I don't carry a purse and so am always on the lookout for a practical small backpack. For the last few years I have been using the Electra by North Face, but always wished it offered pockets for organizing. The pockets in the backpack are perfect for keeping all my little things handy. Although the size is small, it fits more than you would think. I am so happy that I found this backpack and my husband made us get it!
The Arcane Small is a well put together around town day pack. It carries the essentials and more but does it in a low profile and easy to manage pack. Well constructed and the security shoulder strap is a plus. The Arcane Small needs a bottle pocket like you added to the large version as well as a top zipper for the front pocket like you have on the large version. A drop pocket is much more secure then a side zip pocket. I gave it a 4 because of these two missing features.
I use this pack on a daily basis as my purse. I hate purses for I have back & shoulder issues. A small day pack like this ""small arcane"" is perfect bag. I can't say enough good things about this day pack/bag/purse except To Osprey: 1. I wish it had a drink hold for a small 9 oz water bottle that's the only thing missing from this pack? 2. Can you please make this bag in a few more colors maybe a couple light colors besides these dark colors?
Inside I carry a 13” iPad, 24oz water bottle, 3 phones, and I use the day lite powerhouse organizer to fit any additional small items so they aren’t loose in the bag. Even with everything mentioned there is still room to pack in a light jacket. I do wish it had a second mesh pocket on the outside where the J zipper is shorter and maybe two internal sleeves/pockets in the front vertical zipper pouch, but other than that I love this bag.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this pack! Since I’m never without a water bottle and a book, I use it daily more as a purse and it’s a great size, with just enough compartments to be helpful without having too many small places to lose track of things. The straps are very comfortable and it has managed rainy camping and hiking adventures while keeping my things dry.
