Have used in 5 F weather on light hikes with baseline and was plenty warm. Also quite comfortable in mid 50 degree weather with just a t shirt underneath. The zipper is slightly sticky initially and the extra insulation makes it harder to stuff while being bulkier than a 1 L Nalgene bottle. Love the zipper pockets. Fit is just as advertised for their models. A decent amount of clear fibers(spider web like) strands do seem to come off the jacket. Does great in the wind but haven't tested it against other elements or abrasive tree branches/ rock climbing yet.

Light, warm and fits great with a small zipper.

The good- This is a wonderful jacket that is quite comfortable, packable and warm for its size and weight for a synthetic piece. The chest pocket is super convenient and useful. The hand pockets are not fleece lined but are well positioned. I am 5' 11" 210# with 47" chest and the XL fits me perfect and allows for layering and mobility. I have worn it in 0*f in active situations with layers underneath and while commuting. The jacket kept the wind at bay and me comfortable enough. So far, the jacket seems breathable and will allow any sweat to dissappear with ease.In static movements the jacket is likely suitable for the 40+ deg f. I have worn this in light snow and had no issues. The jacket is super light and the hood fits perfectly. Overall fit, finish and quality is superb. The bad- The main zipper and toggle on this jacket is obnoxiously small. It is my understanding that OR made it small to save on weight. While i can respect and appreciate their position i think a larger (easier and quicker to use) zipper and toggle would provide a much better user experience. Compared to many other very similar jackets, this one takes an extra second to connect the zipper and toggle. I have found that is it my biggest gripe. Cold hand or gloved hands will make connecting and zipping more difficult.

Punches well above its weight class in static war

The ideal mid layer for active alpine pursuits. Light enough to layer a shell over it in frigid conditions but warm enough to be a shoulder season top layer. Light, stylish, durable, and punches well above its weight class in static warmth.

The jacket provides great warmth and is light weight. That being said, the material that is made with is not good. I have had it for about 2 months with casual usage. The insulation material is coming out of the seams of the stitching, the outer material stains very easily with anything and stays stained even after washing and treatment. Another issue I’ve had is the zipper is constantly getting hung on the material or the teeth of the zipper becomes disfigured and hard to zip.

Buy a size up

Get a size up...Purchased this in ranger green for hunting in Alaska, I have two other jackets in XL that fit great with layers underneath 6'4" 250lbs. This one is a little short and too tight in the elbow to bend fully, barely making it over my forearms...needless to say I haven't worn it because it's not really functional...to the point where I wonder if they put an XL tag on a Large jacket...bummer because it seems like a nice jacket

Favorite Insulated Piece

Great piece, I have been using this all season and love how warm it is. It is so light, no wind gets through. The fit is perfect for me. I usually size up from T-Shirt Size so I can layer a mid-weight layer underneath. I got an XL, and it is my go-to for morning dog walks and skiing down the mountain when I was in single digit weather. Great in the rain, beads off water like a champ as well.

Materials and design look good, sizing is tight

Jacket seems good but sizing is a bit more snug than other OR jackets. I am 6ft, approx 170 lbs and wear medium jacket typically. Medium in the Ferrosi hoody and Foray shell fit great. This jacket is much tighter in the torso and sleeves are are close to being to short. I wish that I had got a Large. I can still wear it and it's decently comfortable but maybe a bit restrictive in the armpit.

Great jacket, tight on sizing

Great jacket, good weight & breathable. Only issue is with the sizing being on the smaller side, beyond “athletic” cut. Also seems like it’s sized 1 size smaller than the label, especially when compared to other OR jackets of the same sizing.

Ok Warmth for cooler but not cold days

Its still on the thinner side of jackets, its slightly thicker than the LT version so I have to layer up still. its for cooler days but not cold days. Fits fine and is a good mid layer so I still want to wear a thicker jacket for really cold days.

Great Jacket

Bought a couple of these for a trip to Ireland. Was looking for lightweight, warm, wind proof and water resistant. These did the trick. It is hard to believe a jacket so not-puffy would be so warm. Would highly recommend!
