This shoe is amazing. I wore these shoes to hike the Camino Frances in Spain. I hiked 500 miles on all terrains. Never had the first blister. The shoes were comfortable and held up great. I could hike the Camino again wearing this same pair of shoes.
These are by far the most comfortable approach shoes I have ever worn-and they still climb great. On the less technical side of things, I wear them regularly up to Camp Muir on Rainier while guiding with a 40-50-pound pack, and I am never worried about my foot slipping on the sometimes uneven rock footing and occasional moderate snow climbing we do before transitioning to full-shank boots. Arc'teryx is known for a narrower fit in its shoes, but I still found these very comfortable despite having wide feet. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone. I also really like them for lifting weights in the off-season. They work great for squatting and deadlifting!
Super sturdy, high-traction approach shoe. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they’ve held up visually, even after multiple encounters with rocks and roots. (Thanks extended rubber randing!) They provide great stability when navigating technical terrain with a heavy pack. The stiffness did take some getting used to - I felt a bit of pressure around the ball of my foot at first when I did lots of stairs/incline. Adjusting the laces by loosening the forefoot and using a heel lock made a big difference and helped me find a comfortable fit. As with most Arc'teryx shoes, I had to size down half a size for the best fit!
Nice shoes - sturdy and attractive. Not too heavy. For some reason I thought I needed to go up a half size as I usually do with fitness/trail/hiking shoes. I should not have done that. I normally wear 7 bought a 7.5 and it is slightly large so I'd say get your regular size.
Visiting a good friend in Eddingburgh Scotland he recommended Arc'terrix shoes after hearing I had heel-problems after longer hikes. Buying konseals and using them for some time most of my heel-problems disappeared. Materials, comfort, fit, design made me buy a pair of pink Konseals for my sis... now I have one happy sister !
The best all around shoes! Took these as my only pair on a 1-month long Europe trip and they kept me going from crag approaches to city style. The fit and stiffer shoe bed were perfect for long walks around and breathes super well.
I hate to disagree with all the people who love this shoe, but I can’t really tolerate it at all for any hike. The narrow toe box gives me blisters and the stiff fit makes the blisters worse so that I end up hobbling to the car. Not for me. I will be returning them.
Super comfortable fit for an approach shoe, great arch support. I can wear them for days and have no fatigue/blistering. A great scramble shoe, they offer great support and grip on rocky trails. The lace garage helps prevent laces from getting caught or snagged when climbing/scrambling. They don't feel heavy or clunky like other scramble shoes I own. I love the way the colors looks on the nubuck upper.
I recently bought the Konseal for a 30day multi sport activity adventure. The shoe in rune/black will pair well with outfits and it's stable construction and comfort I believe will serve me well on my 70km cycles and hikes and walk about. It is easy to wipe clean. My only wish is that the heel be slightly narrower and the toe box slightly wider.
Bought these in 4.5, normal size, I would say they are a smidge bigger but very comfy. They are a stiffer shoe as stated but they were great on their first outing yesterday, which included beach, trails and roads. Will be testing them in the Alps next month. So far so good 👍
