[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned several pairs of brooks shoes, and these ones are my favorite. They are comfortable, supportive, and fit great on my feet. They have the perfect amount of cushion, and I find myself wearing them all day. I wouldn’t mind having the toe box be just a little wider, but my feet are on the wider side. I think these shoes look great. The color is toned down enough that I can wear them casually as well as for exercise. The fabric is quite breathable, the only downside is they get dirty fairly easily and they are not so easy to clean. Overall, I really like these shoes and will wear them regularly for a long time. I appreciate that I can wear them without my feet hurting at the end of the day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Ghost 17 GTX. I primarily use them for work, where I am on my feet all day moving around on a concrete floor. They are extremely comfortable for this purpose. I also work in a wet environment, so I appreciate the grip and sturdiness of the shoes as I move about my workspace. On top of that, the GoreTex feature keeps my feet dry, as there is often water splashing on me. They feel 100% waterproof in this respect. As far as style, the dominant gray color works well for me and doesn't seem to show dirt or wear very easily. Overall, while these Ghost 17 GTX are billed as a running shoe, I find that they work very well for all-day wear in a work environment where comfort and dryness are essential.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used my new Ghost 17 GTX for a handful of runs ranging from 2-5 miles. Really enjoyed the fit and feel of these compared to some of my other running shoes. They almost feel like they’re propelling me forward a bit. True to size, very light. Great for casual running, and would think nice long runs. Hoping to get a few in coming up. I also wore them as a casual sneaker to a trip in the city, lots of walking, but comfort the whole day. My kid did manage to drop chocolate ice cream on them, and not as easy to clean off as I’d have hoped. White is a tough color to keep a running shoe clean though. Overall great shoe, would recommend to any of my running buddies.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These have become my new go-to shoes. Although I'm not running currently, I do walk outside pretty extensively and do occasional outdoor stair-climbs, along with regular weight lifting, and these have been sturdy and durable for those purposes along with casual daily wear. They fit me perfectly and true to size, and they're very comfortable. The color is a neutral gray which is easy to match with most outfit colors. No complaints here!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are my first pair of Brooks shoes, and I am so very impressed with the comfort, air flow, traction, ease of slipping on or off, and the overall appearance of these Ghost 17 GTX's! I am not an avid runner if comparing to someone who competes in marathons, but I put in some miles of my own on various surfacs like concrete, dirt roads/gravel, grass, xc type trails and the shoes have performed very well on each. Traction isn't an issue that I've found, even on some damp conditions. Having used these on 90*F+ days, the air flow and ventilation is really good. Though, because of this if it rains you will have wet feet pretty quickly; always trade-offs. Not a knock, just the reality. I had injured my back and I have to say, keeping these tied was still easy to slip on/off while retaining a tight feel, and the heel pull tab really helped get the shoes on, it was nice while I was nursing my lower back! I would 100% buy another pair of these, no question.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been wearing the Brooks Ghost 17 GTX for a couple of weeks now and I’ve really grown to love them. The fit felt a little snug at first, especially around the toe area, but after a few wears they broke in nicely and now feel super comfortable. They give great support without feeling bulky, and I’ve had zero issues with rubbing or blisters. Design-wise, I think they look great, pretty simple and sleek. I can wear them for runs, errands, or even just walking around, and they still feel and look good. The waterproofing is a huge plus too. I’ve worn them in light rain and through some puddles and my feet stayed totally dry, which honestly surprised me. What I like most is how soft they feel underfoot, really cushiony but not in a squishy way. Just really easy on my knees and feet, especially on longer walks or jogs. If I could change one thing, I’d make the toe box a little roomier, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, they’re a solid choice if you want a reliable, comfy sneaker that holds up in not-so-perfect weather.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men’s Ghost 17 GTX fit exactly as expected—true to size with a super comfortable and supportive feel. I’ve worn them for a few runs and errands around town, and they’ve held up great with zero break-in needed. They feel stable but not stiff, which I really appreciate. Design-wise, they’re a nice step up from other Brooks shoes I’ve owned. I especially like the cleaner look with the “Brooks” text instead of the typical logo. The contrast in color makes it stand out just enough to catch the eye, but it’s subtle—not overly bold or in-your-face. The fabric feels high quality—soft and breathable in the right spots, but sturdy and structured where it matters. I tested the waterproof feature on a damp morning walk, and my feet stayed dry the whole time. My favorite feature is the rigid heel design. Instead of the usual heel tag, there’s a tougher piece that feels more durable and helps avoid the usual wear and tear at the back of the shoe. If I had to change something, I’d maybe add just a bit more arch support—but overall, I’m impressed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been a longtime fan of the Ghost series, so I was stoked to try the 17 GTX version. After my first few runs, I’m happy to report that the smooth ride and reliable comfort I’ve come to expect from the Ghost are well executed in this shoe. Out of the box, the fit was true to size for me. My feet are on the wider side of normal, and while I don’t have any problems with the width across the ball of the foot, perhaps my only wish for this shoe would be a more rounded toe box. The waterproofing provided by the Goretex does an excellent job of keeping things dry at the expense of a little bit of breathability, but I find that the ability to run in wet conditions adds an important layer of versatility, and it is very much worth the trade. The design is fairly sleek and looks great for running or casual wear. I appreciate that the grey color pairs well with most clothing while also not easily showing dirt, and the pop of color from the orange is interesting without being loud or overwhelming. Overall, these are performing exceptionally well as daily trainers for my 25-30 mile weeks, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a supportive, stable shoe with weather protection, especially those who enjoyed previous Ghost versions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a busy dad, I do whatever I can to squeeze in a workout a few times a week before the kids get up. Typically this means doing an all-in-one cross-training routine which requires a versatile shoe ready for indoor aerobics, light weight training, and road and trail running. The Brooks Ghost 17 GTX has quickly become my preferred choice because of its awesome performance and overall comfort. The fit and quality of materials has been particularly noteworthy. It provides a secure, well-hugged feel without any sensation of constriction—this has impressively remained constant from the first time I put them on and after many workouts. It is different than other shoes I've had in this regard, so would be worth trying on before buying to see if it's your jam. Secondly, I run from my house starting on pavement and then onto a dirt river trail for my 1-3 mile runs. The Ghost's traction has proven reliable with no slippage even on wet surfaces or coming back onto pavement after running off road. Also, living in the hot and humid Southeast, the shoe is impressively breathable. You can even feel the air moving through the front of the shoe as you run. The cushioning strikes the right balance for me (not too much or too little) but the shoe does feel slightly heavier than some other models I've used. That said, the weight hasn't translated into a slower pace -- in fact, my run times have improved since switching to the Ghost 17 for my routine. As cheesy as it sounds, slipping on these shoes in the mornings actually gets me excited about working out. These are easily one of the best , well-designed shoes I've ever owned.
