Take a summer hike
These shorts are a winner. The fabric is soft with some stretch and will dry quickly. There are several pockets, Velcro closure on the back one and a side zip in the right front one. Since I do not care for short shorts, the length is perfect. The cut does run small. I usually wear a size 4 however after reading other reviews which said they were on the small side, I ordered a 6 and they fit just right. One other downside, there is a right leg lower pocket which is a generous size, but the opening is too small for me to get my hand into it. My hands are on the larger side.
Vacation Perfection
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a longer short and I found a great pair. These are super comfortable for active days and can be dressed up while on vacation. I love the deep pockets, and there is an extra side/leg pocket (phone) and a zippered hidden pocket (money). The fabric is lightweight and they have enough stretch to move comfortably without losing shape. Check the sizing chart. I sized up because of the hi-rise fit and my measurements were right on the edge. I'm glad I did because I have room to roam. I would prefer a mid-rise but otherwise I'm loving these shorts; so much so I bought them in navy, black and tan.
BEST pockets, snug in waist
These shorts are a great find! The best part—front pockets that hold your huge phone and even better, one in back on your leg that holds it too!!! I hate having to wrestle with the waist straps on my pack to get into my pockets to check the map or take a picture. The design eliminates that problem. Perfect weight and length, but deducting a star for the too-small waistband and snug butt (and I have a flat butt…). They’d be perfect if they had any capacity to be adjusted.
Perfect Shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts are the best shorts I’ve ever owned. The size fits perfectly. I bought a size 10 and usually wear a sizes 8-10. The olive green color is neutral so they can be matched with almost any colored casual top. The hem is about 5 inches above the knee giving them a conservative look. There are 4 pockets Two in the front and two on the back right side. The lower pocket on the back side is wide and long enough to hold a cellphone. The lower back pocket has a velcro closure and also can accommodate your cellphone. With the velcro, it holds your cellphone so that it will not fall out when you are in the bathroom. I love this characteristic. The fabric is thin, breathable and comfortable. They can be washed and dried without shrinkage. I like these shorts that I bought the same style in black. I definitely recommend purchasing this product.
But these and get out there

I also own both styles of pants that I wear to work and I pretty much live in the COLUMBIA brand. I never tried their shorts before so it was a treat to get them in the mail and put them on and go hiking. Great material, too small
I ordered my normal size but it was too tight around the waist. I'll be returning them. :(

Great length and stay “neat” looking throughout the day. The phone pocket on the leg is 5star. I am a zoo docent and these shorts are now standard uniform due to their comfort and utility .
Great shorts but the waistband
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shorts but tight in the waistline. Wish stretchy material was used for the waistband like the rest of the shorts. Otherwise the shorts fit well…I moved the button over which helped. I am 5’3”, weigh 137 lbs and usually wear a size 10. Will wear loose tops to hide the waistline bulge.
