These shoes are really comfortable, and I’m super excited about the color! If your ankles swell, then this is not the shoes for you, because the tongue is affixed on both sides so do not fall off if a shoe string comes untied while running.
I needed a cushioned shoe for running on the treadmill and a stable shoe for weight training and jumping side to side and a wide width for my bunions and this shoe is perfect. My only regret is the light purple/blue color because the rubberized floor at my gym made black marks on the toes and other parts of the shoe that touched the mat doing floor exercises.
Very comfortable out of the box. Used for walking, not running.
Bought these today. Already can tell a difference in foot pain.
I preordered the 32's and they just arrived today. Have been walking in them around the neighborhood and they feel FANTASTIC. Stable support with lots of good cushion but not "fluffy", if that makes sense. The small changes really suit my feet and I'm looking forward to really putting them to the test this week. I've been wearing the Gel Kayanos for years. The 31s were good, but I had to really break them in around the ankles. The came up higher than previous models and rubbed a raw spot the first few weeks of wear. These don't seem to do that. My one wish is that they would include some color ways that are a bit more feminine. If we have to wear thick shoes for support, it'd be nice to have some more "girlie" colors.
I’ve been wearing Kayanos for a long time until the 30 version came out. The reviews were not good. I decided to buy the 31s thinking they would change the shoe based on reviews. The shoe felt big and just not what I was used to. So, when the 32s came out, I decided to give it another try. They do fit better, not as bulky. They are comfortable. The only this I don’t like is there seems to be too much cushioning which feels like it takes away a bit from the support that I need.
I tried these on, along with the Asics GT-2000, and they provided such wonderful cushioning on my feet, I felt like I didn't want to stop running! I also feel that they propelled me forward--the design of the heel and toe must be the reason for this. I am debating buying these vs. the Asics GT-2000--but the GT-2000 didn't give me the cloud feeling that the GEL-Kayano 32's did...they were more stable, but then so are the Kayanos. I really don't understand the negative comments on here--they should be ashamed for posting negative reviews, as it seems they are either dishonest (didn't even have the shoe available to buy at the time they complained about it not lasting for 4 months), and that it doesn't provide any stability. Perhaps the issue is the consumer here--they aren't being realistic. I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!
I have worn Gel Kayanos for years and have usually had really great things to say about them. While the support is great, the Gel Kayano 32 color options are not attractive at all. Most are neutral (whites, blacks, or greys), and what few color options they have are also neutrals (brown, gold) or not my choice of colors. I miss having fun color options like pink, purple, mint, etc. Here's hoping the Gel Kayano 33s will offer more color options.
I’m a heel striker and have loved wearing the Kayano 30s. A bit heavy but I was a great first shoe to get into running. I’m looking for a new shoe to train for my next half marathon. I bought these and loved how light it was, but that 8mm drop really impacted how I ran. It enforced more a midfoot strike which felt really uncomfortable to me. I’ve decided to buy the 31s instead to stick with the 10mm drop.
ASICS almost always fits me like a glove and these are no exception. I'm not a runner but do have plantar fasciitis and foot issues from 3 surgeries. I have almost no foot pain with these and wear them several hours daily. My only complaint is the lack of color variety with the narrow widths. How about another color other than black every other year?
