[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spring my grandson was to heavy to strap on my back. He had grown and needed a safe seat of his own for my bike. I researched the quality and safety of a child's bike seat as that was tremendously important to me. Our grandson is our world. The straps will grow with him as well making this seat a great purchase. I looked at other child seats, but they were not nearly as effective and safe. I had to expect it would be easy to install the Dash® FM (Frame Mount) - Extended Rails to my trike bike with out modification. Burley reasurred me the seat of my choice would fit our bike. It was a breeze to install and easy to take off when he is not with us. I had to know when I strapped our Stormy Boy into the bike seat and took off peddling down the rode, that he would be as safe and comfortable as possible. He loves our precious time together. He is 2 years old and full of an adventurous spirit. The seat makes it easy for him to talk with us throughout our ride. His Nana and Papaw help him to explore his world and ours. Thanks Burley for enriching our life. I trust your product with my treasure! Doesn't Nana and Stormy Boy look wonderful? Gotta go as it is time to explore again.
Good purchase but some room for improvement.
It arrived quickly and it only took about 45 minutes to unpack and fully install on my bike. I've been using it for three weeks and two observations caught my attention. The straps are difficult to adjust when you need to tighten them down, one of them has a tendency to fall off my child's shoulder. The other is the seatback is made of a very soft and cheap material that tears easily where the harness goes through it and into the seat back. Other than that I like the product. It seems well constructed and is easy to remove and reinstall. I don't regret buying it and I think it's a decent value. Some more wear resistant materials and better harness adjustment design would make it a good value.

Outstanding Value and Quality
I am incredibly impressed with the quality and value of this bike seat. I took a gamble on this one before any reviews were available due to Burley's excellent reputation in the bike trailer sector. Our daughter has loved this bike seat and it has been quite easy to use. It is easy to install as long as you make sure your bike frame is compatible with the FM design. The foot harnesses are the only thing that can be a bit cumbersome to fasten when you are stabilizing the bike and trying to load them, but we love every other detail about this child bike seat!
Sleek, safe, and simple
Within a week of purchasing the Dash seat my daughter and I had a pretty nasty fall. So many things could have gone wrong, but thanks to the Dash, she emerged without a scrape on her (the seat? Well that’s another story). The harrowing experience simply reaffirmed what I already knew. The Dash is a quality seat that protected my little one when I needed it most. And isn’t that all that matters? Yes it looks great on my bike. Yes I love that I can take it on/off easily whenever I want. And yes, it kept my baby safe. For that I am forever grateful.
Love this purchase
I struggled to find a child seat option that would work for me. I tested a trailer once and was not a fan, and it wasn’t practical for getting around town. One reason I struggled to find a seat that would work is I have a gravel bike, which the geometry made it tricky to find any option that would work. Second reason is I am only 5’6” and have a 52cm frame, so there is limited mounting space on my bike. I spent quite a long time researching and comparing products and most options weren’t possible at all…until I found this seat. The 4” min mounting space just fits onto my seat tube and has been a dream to have. I take a lot of 1-2 mile trips around my town and my child and I both HATE getting in the car, this seat has brought life changing freedom to my life.
Not easy to mount but worth the battle
Struggled to get this thing mounted. The instructions could be improved to help with the process. But once I finally got it done, it has been great. Have been on at least four bike rides with both my one year old and also my three year old testing it out. Only issue I have is when the bigger kid is in it, the Dash foot holder part must be at the lowest setting and my foot hits into this part. I have to move my foot forward on the pedal to avoid this. A minor adjustment. Overall, holding up well.
Very disappointed with the quality,
Very disappointed with the quality, plastic flimsy,straps cheap and not wide enough, there is no safety feature to hold child in if straps are unbuttoned. My grandson played immediately with the big yellow button. I wish I had bought the one that sits on a rack, the frame one fits only one of our bike frames. He loves to ride however do I am nervously using it. Burley did not live up to its name on this one.
Excellent Product
I recently purchased the Dash for my two year old and I’m glad that I did. The dash is easy to assemble and even easier to mount/dismount. We also have a Burley trailer for my son but wanted a bike seat for those times when we wanted to pack light. The pocket in the back of the Dash is a great feature as is the five point harness. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We bought this for our 18 month old, and she really enjoys riding behind daddy in her seat. Overall, we have been very pleased with our purchase and find the quality of the item to be excellent. We had no trouble installing the seat onto our bike after thoroughly reading the directions. Features we enjoy include the padded seat, wrapped frame protecting child's legs, easily adjustable footrest, recessed space to allow room for helmet, and pocket in the back to hold a couple of items. The design of the straps for the footrests make them challenging to secure, which we have found frustrating. Also, the harness is not as adjustable as I would like. The shoulder straps can only be tightened a little bit and then you can tighten it more by pulling the crotch strap. Our child is a big 18 month old so I feel she is safe, but I would probably not put a smaller child in this seat due to the design the of harness. So great for bigger kids!
