I was struggling to find shoes that kept me comfortable during 12-hour shifts wearing a heavy leaded apron; multiple brands of running shoes and other go-to pairs that had served me well as a bedside nurse gave me aching feet and a very sore back halfway through the day. I was skeptical about getting these, thinking that the textured insole was purely a gimmick, but I can definitely say that it made a difference. These made me feel light on my feet again despite carrying extra weight. After several months, the texture has been worn down and I’m noticing that they aren’t quite as comfortable, but the relief is still far greater than any of the other shoes I’ve tried. Would definitely recommend, and tempted to get another pair to use as house slippers!
OMG. These shoes just landed on my doorstep and I never want to take then off. They are like clouds. Light and cushy and simply glorious. My foot measures 8.5 and I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel. I wear a 9.5 in Topo sneakers and I ordered a 9 in these. I will not be able to wear these with socks so I probably should have ordered 9.5.
I'm so bummed about these! I had the prior model and they were so much more roomy, great cushion, and grippy bottoms! My go to for dog walking, errands, and after sports. But this model now barely fits my foot. They don't fit like other topo shoes. For it being a recovery shoe it should have more room. I'll be sticking with my very old worn down pair.
The fit didn’t work for me. I wear an 8.5 in topo terraventure and cyclone and they both fit perfect out of the box. I have large big toes, wide forefoot, and narrow heel. The 8.5 in the rekovr felt tight on my toes and sloppy on the ankles. My toes hit the end of the shoe while at the same time I had a lot of heel slippage. The sizing definitely didn’t seem consistent with the other models of topos I own, which is a bummer because I wanted these to work.
These were the only shoes I wanted to wear while recovering with stitches on the bottom of my foot. They didn't bother my stitches or my bunion (hallux vagus). The only problem is that it's winter and I want to wear socks to keep my ankles warm. I can only wear very thin toe socks with these shoes. Regular socks get pulled too tight on my toes when I put these shoes on. I bought my regular size (8.5 women's), so sizing up could help with sock issue. As it is, they're comfortable enough I may get a black pair to wear to work.
tl;dr these are comfortable and supportive. They initially stretch out with wear in the first few weeks. Consider going up a half size, especially if you have high arches. First, these are amazingly comfortable and supportive at the same time. All the raves about the rippled foot bed are legit. I love that they feel as supportive as running shoes and more comfortable than slippers but have real tread like a trail shoe. They are exactly what I want on my feet after a long run. However...the sizing is confusing but it's worth it to find your right size. Here's what worked for me: I'm normally a women's 9 or 9.5, normal width, normal arch height. My feet measure ~10 inches so I look for shoes around 10.2 inches. I ordered these in 9.5 and they barely fit (the height of the foot opening felt a bit tight and the length was barely long enough, more like a 8.5 or 9), even though I wear 9.5 in Topo running shoes (I have Atmos and MT-5 shoes). Because I had used a one-time coupon, I ordered the 10s before returning the 9.5s just to make sure I wanted to do that. The 10s also fit, more like what I expected the 9.5s to feel like. I could wear wool socks in the 10s. But after wearing the 10s for about a week, I realized they had relaxed, probably due to the nature of wool, and were loose without socks. So I tried the 9.5s again and realized it was worth the gamble to see if they would stretch out too. I've been wearing them for a few weeks now and they have stretched, which made the foot opening bigger, but didn't make them longer of course. I'm still happy I have them because they work better than the 10s with thin socks or no socks and now that it's warmer I prefer that. I'm sure I'll wear the 10s in winter.
I’m a wide footed woman with a high instep. I’ve had trouble being fitted my whole life. I bought these for plane flights, but the instep area is a little tight for me. Being wool, I hope they stretch. My orthotics do not fit. YMMV.
Comfortable, easy slip on shoe that can be worn as a slipper, but also as an outside shoe. I did have to get it 1/2 size larger than my usual shoe size and prefer to wear it with lightweight socks.
Love, love, love them. The Rekovr shoes are so comfortable. I wear them after hiking and cycling, to/from yoga, walking the dog, etc.
