Searching for a small, lightweight, pack that would meet my needs. While yes the roll top is not for everyone(I was skeptical) it suits my needs for compression and expansion if needed. - I mount a phone pocket pouch on the strap. It has my wants: two side pockets, one narrow but adequate stretch panel pocket, removable waist belt, shock cord and sternum strap. Oh and I like the hook strap on the top. I would recommend this pack for anyone looking for a SMALL everyday day hiker.
Very light, well made but missing some things for this amount of money. The bag is well made and light. The bag feels secure on your bag and the waist belt is comfortable. Bag has plenty of room for long day hikes. Side pockets are deep and secure water bottles or other items. Center stretchy pocket works to hold small items. Shock cord will hold jacket. Roll top closure doesn’t always stay closed if bag is not full same problem with side compression straps. The hydration loop was too low in the size medium, so the bladder was on bottom of bag. Biggest issue for me was no small internal pocket for keys, wallet, sunglasses or valuables. You can’t trust any external pocket for these items so you have to have a small sack/bag or buy something like a shoulder strap pocket to keep them safe and not just rolling around bottom of bag. Overall quality pack but missing a few things for the money
Cons: Seems to hold less than its rated volume. Roll top is an acquired tasted at best. I haven't adapted to it yet and would much prefer the traditional top pocket. Pros. Light, streamlined, seemingly more durable than packs of comparable weight. I anticipate that it will come into its own during intensive bushwacking.
Light weight, durable, minimalist. Thumb loops are too small, otherwise great.
