Lowa’s for the win!

Purchased these boots one month before doing a five day trip to Zion and Bryce and I LOVE them! I was the only one in our group with dry, warm feet after 5 1/2 hours of rain- and I was the only one wearing Lowa boots. Lots of top name brands on everyone else’s feet and they all (8 other hikers) had wet feet by the end of the hike. This is my second pair of Lowa’s and I swear by them. Excellent comfort on inclines and good support. Tred depth is perfect for various types of terrains and sheds mud quickly. Wore them every day in the trip and they were comfortable from morning to night.

Don't Rule the Maddox Pro GTX Out...

I've had 4 foot surgeries. 2 on each foot. Size-wise, I wear a women's 10, often a wide. This boot was not for me: 1) the fore foot was too narrow and 2) there was no cushion to the insole. It was hard. After wearing the boot, inside for 4 hours, the 2 smallest toes, on my right foot, and the lateral side of that foot hurt. That lasted through the night and until mid-morning the next day. I returned the boot. The boot is lightweight and, though I didn't take it on the trails, it seemed very 'sticky' on the different flooring in our house. The nylon upper had a lot of give, but the insole was too narrow for me. There was no heel slippage at all. If you have 'normal' feet or narrow feet, I wouldn't rule this boot out until you've tried it.

So narrow

These are insanely narrow. They look nice and seem like good quality but my toes and feet are completely smashed.

Great lightweight waterproof hiking boot

I've worn Lowa for years and these are my go-to boots currently. I love that they are waterproof, yet lightweight. Because these are fairly flexible, which is very comfy, I'd wear these for moderate hikes. I may not wear them for long backpacking trips since I prefer a more rigid sole for super long treks. Overall, a VERY good hiking boot.
