Wanted to Love

I am pretty bummed about these. I think they have a lot of good features and hopefully in future iterations they can get these working well. For me though I have some major issues. First, it takes a LOT of effort to get the magnetic side shields off the glasses. They seemed to have been manufactured in a way that is incorrect for removal which leads me to my second issue... They fog like CRAZY. Due to the size of the lens and more enclosed design if you run hot you are gonna run into some issues especially without being able to remove the side shields. I really wish I had purchased a wildcat or embark as I think the photochromatic lens is cool but otherwise this product hasn't done the trick.

Not adjustable enough

I guess I have a skinny head or nose because when I hike and look down to see where I am going, the glasses fall down my nose. I wish there were another nosepad in the case or an a way to adjust the fit.. if you have a skinny nose or head I wouldn’t buy these. I’m not sure how the chroma works but it seems like in a vehicle they don’t work as well with lens changes as compared to being outside exposed to the rays. Unfortunately I cannot return as I’ve passed the timeframe and have used the glasses on a hike.

giant on my normal sized head

the pursuits are good at what they say they do. they don’t stay on, though - and there’s no way to tighten the fit. I wear a size M in helmets from smith and have no issues with the fit of the wildcats. I don’t trust these to stay on for skiing, mountaineering, or biking. used them for mountain biking today and they were blocking my vision within a minute of starting on the downhill, and I had issues with them staying on all winter for mountain pursuits.

Love em!

In love with these glasses. Took a face plant trying to land a jump while snowboarding. Landed right on these glasses! To my amazement there wasn’t a scratch on the lens. Definitely recommend for those snowboarders who don’t care for googles but still want to protect your eyes from all the wind. The lens will fog up but I feel like all glasses and goggles do that so it isn’t a deal breaker. The strap on the back is a nice touch.

Day Making

Cannot speak highly enough about these. After suffering an eye injury that has left me with photo sensitivity issues, the design of the Pursuit has allowed me to continue high output activity on and off snow. With the coverage they provide, the ventilation is on point in keeping the lens clear and the peripheral flaps keep down glare without entirely enclosing field of vision. Big thank you to Smith & Cody <3

Best I've found yet !

Great all around glasses. So far have used for MTB (moderate fall temps), 1 early season light ski tour and lot's of Resort skiing. Great coverage and they fit my expansive head well :) . Little fogging , so far only when stopping after high exertion skiing in cold temps. Very little wind bleed at high speeds. Not the perfection solution for flat light but what is ? My Oakley Sutros i with the snow prism lense are marginally better in flat light but more wind bleed and too light of a tint when the sun comes out. Love that the photochromatic lense covers my need for darker lenses as it gets brighter ( bright light fatigues my sensitive eyes). There are a couple of design flaws- super hard to remove side shields, I just leave them on, and plastic temple ends scratch the inside of the lens when folded in the case ( they need soft rubber pad on the ends, put a chums or other retainer on immediately).

Missed the Mark for Me

I purchased these to use for backcountry skiing/ nordic skiing/ and hopefully as an option for mountain biking as well. I have a very average/ medium size head (wear medium in Smith helmets) and these were too big to sit securely on my face. They are basically too big to use with a cycling helmet as well. The side shields and nose clip don't really function that great and doubt I would ever use them. I'll echo another reviewer that the rear strap was so big even when shortened all the way that it was completely useless. I also wasn't a fan of the "packable" case- for the cost of these things- it should come with a nice hard case. The blue photochromatic lens was the one positive and seemed to transition pretty well (and I'm generally not a fan of photochromatics so thats saying something). I tried both the Wildcat and these glasses and unfortunately Smith has just been missing the mark for me lately.

Great glasses - very poor design of side pieces

As many others have noted, the side pieces, noted as removable, are not well designed. After feeling how much resistance there was to removing these, I got on the horn with a Smith Customer Service Agent to ask for help. He told me that the tabs were durable and to apply pressure from the top and bottom to remove the pieces. Well the tab broke while on the chat, and the tab stayed inside the frame, which shows how tight that fit it. After carefully pounding an awl into the hole in the frame, I was finally able to get the broken tab out. Customer service, as always, was excellent and is sending me replacement side pieces. However, the main reason I got these glasses over the Wildcats, which I have had and loved, was because of the side pieces and being able to take them on and off as needed. It's hard for me to imagine those pieces going in and out more than a few times without breaking. It seems like these little tabs should have been metal.

Doesn’t fit high cheekbones

Tried them on and was really hoping they would fit my face (Asian face with high cheek bones), but unfortunately they don’t really fit well and are uncomfortable. There is a lot of pressure on the cheeks. Additionally the shields seem really difficult to remove.
