Very small, and able to carry camera(s)

I really liked Bev's video about the 2L bag. I was looking for something minimalist to carry my camera while walking in the streets without showing off the camera. While they don't promote it as a camera bag, I am kind of stubborn, and was able the carry 2 cameras, a Medium format, and a MTF, with spare battery for each.

Simple safety solution

So there's a lot of complaints about the buckle being easy to accidentally open and I came up with a simple solution that works for me. By attaching the included key bungee to the attachment point and then I added a simple key ring to the buckle release side of the strap. Now, once I put it on, I can clip the key ring to the bungee for safety in case the buckle is opened by mistake. When not needed, the key bungee can slip into the rear strap storage area. See photos.

Great sling except for buckle and compartments

I found a workable solution to fix the accidental buckle release issue. I used a silicone cable strap to thread through the slit and the bottom hole of the buckle (see pictures). The thickness of the strap makes it much harder to press and release the buckle unless you intentionally press it really hard. Use a black color silicone strap and you can't really notice it's there so it won't affect the aesthetics. Also, you won't need to untie the silicone strap at all. Leave it there , it is just there to make it much harder to press the buckle release , but you can still press it when you intentionally want to. If Peak Design is reading this, I think they should recall this strap buckle and replace it with a secure one for all current users (or at least offer a discount for a replacement that would fix this issue). Now to the review of the sling bag: I like PD products. This outdoor sling is a great lightweight sling. The best thing about it is that it can be collapsed or expanded easily. The drawcord system last you expand or tighten the thickness of the bag. When tightened, it can be flat and contour to your body which is a great plus . The weight is very light compared to another of my favorite brand bell - roy . However, the downside is the internal compartments organization. In the outer compartment, it is a bit too shallow and there is no internal partitions or pockets, it's only good for keys and ChapStick. In the main compartment, all the zippered and elastic pockets are concentrated on the inner side (the side close to your body). It would be better if there are some small pockets distributed on the other side of the bag. The issue is, after filling the small compartments INSIDE the zipper compartment, it's hard to fill the small compartments slots on the outside of the zipper compartment as they are all concentrated on one side. The "stash pocket" is a good feature to store quick access items like your phone. It fits the biggest phone on the market right now and it doesn't fall out easily with the magnetic closure. The strap is of high quality. And yes, I can see how the release button can be pressed by accident, so I would not use it for camera gear. See above for my personal solution to fix this accidental release issue. Technically, you could replace it with other PD straps using their anchor links system if you need a super secure strap. The inclusion of multiple strap hooks are great for mounting other accessories and it's very flexible. Overall, this is still an excellent sling. It's light weight and expandability offsets its shortcoming of less than idea compartments organization. Recommended.

Not safe for carry

So, I've had the 7l sling for a few weeks. And unfortunately there is a massive oversight on the locking clip. If you grab the sling at the clasp connection point, it opens and falls to the ground. I hadn't grabbed the insert for the bag yet as it was out of stock at the time and my camera hit the concrete and Ice without a protective layer .. camera was fine, I got lucky. But this is not a camera bag. And as much as I love the everyday sort of design. This is a massive fail being so easy to accidentally unhinge the connection. There is no safety mechanism at the hinge area whatsoever. And I have alot of PD products. Since the beginning. Pretty disappointed and will be returning

Small and mighty

Got this on Kickstarter. More than an outdoor sling, I wanted something simple to carry around my phone, wallet, notebook and other small trinkets on a daily basis on small walks and commutes. This 2L sling does that perfectly. The backpocket fits my iPhone 13 Pro Max with a case and PD's mobile tripod, and the main compartment unit fits everything else I need. Key tether inside one of the compartments is amazing. The design is minimal and super sleek, I love it. And the shoulder strap is comfortable. I forget it's' there. This bag is small. Do take that into consideration. Beyond the things I listed, you won'f fit much else. So if you have to carry a water bottle, an extra sweater or your lunch, this won't cut it. But if all you need is a very stylish sling to carry the essentials with extra comfort and amazing features, you can't go wrong with this sling.

Functional but Disappointing Fabric Wear

I purchased the Outdoor Sling for a recent trip, and while I found the size to be just right and it comfortable to carry, I was disappointed to notice some pilling on the back fabric after just three weeks of use. This was unexpected, especially considering the great quality I've come to expect from other PD products. While the sling served its purpose during the trip, the fabric wear was a bit of a letdown.

This doesn’t feel like a PD product

I think this bag is quite overrated, there are plenty of similarly sized and styled bags with portability that are at a similar price point with a lot of more tasteful organization that listens to what edc customers want in 2024. This one is a stash bag, but even in that respect - it’s just lacking basic organization and tech. The magnet is a huge flaw on the open compartment and it leaves it unusable when the bag is packed decently. It’s just a miss - I think this is a really big miss for PD

Perfect fit for Steam Deck

It’s the perfect everyday carry. It fits my everyday items (phone, keys, leatherman, charging brick, etc) plus my Steam Deck (in a Tomtoc case), charger, & Bose noise canceling headphones. Absolutely love this bag!

bag that does the job it was hired to do

i bought this a few weeks ago for an outdoor camping trip because i wanted something that could stand up to the elements and protect my carry items. out of the box it had plenty of customizable fit options with adjustable straps on both end with strap management built into the bags so i was able to get everything just right. happy to report on the trip that it withstood rain, cold, 20-25 miles of hiking, and a little bit of dancing as well all while packed to the brim. no malfunctions or issues to speak of although i feel the stabilizer strap could be a bit stronger and more intuitive with better store options. all around though, happy with the bag.

Terrible buckle design. Beware!

I bought this bag about a month ago and have since reviewed the bag giving it a 5 star review. The bag meets all of my needs and with the XXS Camera cube i can carry a nice Leica kit with several lenses. However, since that review I have almost dropped the bag twice due to the terrible design of the buckle. It only takes a very light touch to open the buckle and when adjusting its position on my shoulder it unintentionally opened. I have since superglued the buckle to prevent the dropping of thousands of dollars of equipment. I really wish PD would come up with a new buckle design on the strap. I would be first in line to purchase one.
