This is a very well made bag with lots of room, smooth working zippers, crossbody strap option. However, the width dimension does not include the 2 zippered pockets on the outside. Yes, the bag is squishable so if not overfilled it would work as an under seat bag depending on the airline taken. I was hoping to use the bag packed in a rollaboard carryon but it's not really meant to be packed. A very good bag but not for my needs. I returned it.
Amazing Bag…Shoulder Strap Needs a Redesign
We own 2 of TNF Voyager duffles, and use them regularly for trips. So when I was in the market for a new personal item bag, I was excited about this tote. I used this bag recently on an international flight, and love just about everything about it. The main compartment is spacious with decent organization. The laptop sleeve doesn’t go all the way to the bottom to protect your laptop. I absolutely love the smaller pockets on the front for those easy to get items (ear buds, power cords, batteries, snacks). The side pockets easily fit 2 large stainless steel water bottles securely (although I would recommend making your kid carry their own). Daisy chain on the front is great for clipping a pillow or travel blanket to. My biggest complain echos all the others…when weighted down, the shoulder strap is a joke. The plastic hardware opens right up. I was aware of this problem, and so tried not to jerk it around. However, despite trying to slide the little T shaped piece back into its slot, it wouldn’t stay put. I’d expect more for the price and from a company like TNF. I will either be buying a new shoulder strap or replacing the hardware to prevent it from happening again.
