Great paddle for the BWCA
I was looking for a non-bent shaft paddle for a while and had read some great reviews on the BB Exped + on various BWCA websites. I'm 6'1" and purchased a 58 a couple of years ago for myself. Straight-blade, as I'm typically in the stern. Nice long paddles last summer in the BWCA and I couldn't have been happier. It's a strong and light weight paddle and you can really "feel" the water and the canoe as you work. Purchased a 56 for my wife today. She probably could get by with a 54, but I tend to err on the longer side of a paddle, especially for the bow (keep your fingers from jamming the gunnels). I highly recommend these paddles for the paddling. Beautiful to look at as well.
