Really the best

What can I say about these shoes other than this is my sixth pair I love them. I hike them constantly. As long as it’s not snow they are grippy. I hike the northeast 115. I’ve climbed up rock faces. I’ve never had a blister. I’ve been wearing these for over two years. They are a complete game changer. I never have uncomfortable feet and I don’t slip on rock. I’ve taken these on 24 mile to versus in the white mountains Adirondacks and Maine. I still dance out of the woods after a long day.

Delivered

I bought these to replace my boots for a trip to Yellowstone. I was tired of big, heavy boots that took up a lot of real estate on my body, and I my bags, but still needed something that provided support in rough conditions. So far, these have delivered. I had my doubts, since they’re so light they almost feel fragile, but so far I haven’t been disappointed. I wasn’t counting, but over the course of this trip these shoes did between 10-12 miles. They handled scree well - could not even feel the rocks beneath my feet. Flat ground is the same story. Comfortable, breathable, and insanely light. I did not get the model equipped with gore-tex (gore-tex has longevity issues) so the heavy morning due along the rivers while I was fishing soaked my feet fast, but the shoes dried out very quickly. My one qualm is the amount of wear I’m noticing after just one trip. A well-rounded trip, but I’m noticing significant wrinkling in the midsole and some wear along the lugs that hold the shoelaces. I’m hoping these are just signs of life.

Disappointing Durability

Purchased these in September and within a week the sole had already begun separating on the toe. Not a huge issue as it didn't seem to get much worse but now, a few months later both heels have begun deteriorating. With the heels wearing down the shoes become uncomfortable and hard to wear for more than a short walk. The same thing happened with my first pair of Moab Speeds but not until at least a year after purchase and daily wear. Disappointing as I really do like these shoes, they're comfortable and have great traction but I'd hesitate to recommend them given the durability issues.

Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave these to my father to wear the sizing is slightly off he usually wears an 8-8.5 but the size 9 fits him similar to his normal size. He likes how they fit and that they are comfortable for him to wear as a normal shoe for daily use. For reference my father also wears compression stockings with socks which also may contribute to sizing differences

They are very comfortable, has good grip that makes it easy to climb the surfaces. Ties give grate support for the feet and ankle. He really enjoys these shoes. Design is also very nice.

Lightweight and comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried several types of hiking shoes and these are by far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. They are lightweight and supportive. They provide stability while still allowing flexibility. The cushioning is top notch and great for long hikes. The heel doesn’t slip and was very comfortable. They provide great traction, even on rocky wet surfaces. Fit was true to size. Would definitely recommend and I will only use these for hiking from now on.

Comfortable, durable andhas good traction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hiking shoes from Merrell are a great shoe. They are so comfortable with the padded insole lining in the inside. They have just the right of traction for walking the trails without being heavy and stiff like some other brands. Fit is very comfortable and true to size. Color is a nice shade of blue and are a very durable fabric. I will buy another pair and recommend them.

Comfortable, supportive, lightweight trail shoe

Switching over to these from pure trail runners to use for multi day backpacking. These are better - light enough, dry fast enough, same grip, more supportive. For me the slightly higher heel drop of these also better, helping my plantar fasciitis. Sized up half size to accommodate darn tough medium weight. Highly recommended.
