So versatile and spacious!
This bag is so cool! Let me rave about how versatile this bag is. Empty and on the bike it compresses down to a low profile - I even tied my helmet to the top with the compression straps when I got to the store. At the store I picked up a bit more than I thought - but it all fit in the bag! I store my big U-lock (disassembled) in the handy "under pocket". I was a little worried the stuff on top would make it hard to shove the lock back in - but I was wrong. Outside of buying too much, I appreciate all the interior pockets for storing my regular repair kit stuff and my snacks. I'm a little worried my partner may repurpose it to tote around shop tools. He used it to bring back paint from the store the other day. I may need to get another. I like the 4 point attachment straps - they make the process of getting the bag on and off the bike simple and easy. This bag is a winner.
I love this bag. It's just the right size for running errands. I bought a shoulder strap so I can carry it when shopping at the local farmers market. My only issue is with so many pockets I tend to forget where my keys are. It fits on my bike rack perfectly and the bottom compartment for my u lock is perfect with the zipper closure to keep it from falling out. I am a new rider and find this bag to be perfect. I learned about this bag for my boyfriend who is a 40-year cyclist and bike camper.... it's his favorite bag...he loves the size and that it is light colored inside so he can find what he is looking for without needing a flashlight.
Great bag with one issue
This is a well-made and conceived bag. The style and utility aspects are great as well. I love it, except that my rear rack is fairly narrow and the bottom of the bag is soft causing it to shift over the side of the rack when on bumpy terrain. I put a thin board in the lock compartment at the base of the bag and that fixed it, but it would have been better to have either a firmer bottom or straps better than the velcro to make it more secure.
Pretty good - description needs to be updated
I like that this bag attaches by way of 4 velcro straps, making it very easy to put on and take off of my bike rack. You can cinch the bag down if it's not full, and I like the lighter color lining with quite a few useful pockets. I really like the compartment to put your u-lock in instead of trying to wedge it into the bag itself and I don't know why this isn't a common feature for trunk bags - I love it! A few things I think would make it an even better bag: The REI site says that the bag comes with a detachable sling carry strap - nope, it sure doesn't. I do wish there was a strap or attachment points for adding a strap to carry it when off the bike. I attach a strap I already had to the little carry handles on the ends which works well enough. I would love it if there were velcro straps on the end of the bag opposite of where the u-lock slides into the bag so that the bag wouldn't slide back and forth a bit on my rack. Lastly, I wish that there were velcro straps to secure the u-lock into the compartment you slide it into... just for peace of mind, really. Overall, I really like the bag and am glad I got it.
love!
This bag is great. It's so easy to attaché to my bike rack. I love the little pockets inside. I bought a cross body strap to carry it because the description is incorrect about it having one. The water bottle side is a little tight but fits my 24 oz bike bottle just fine.
Good, except for the u-lock compartment
I bought this bag because it is expandable, so I can stuff my excess commuter gear in it when I'm not wearing it, and so I can stash my Kryptonite U-lock in the advertised compartment. Unfortunately, the lock is not remotely secure and will fall out eventually if you are riding on uneven terrain (as you often find in cities.) Mine fell out towards the end of my commute with a big crash, so at least I heard it fall and went back to get it. Just be aware that if you have a decent U-lock, it will not be secure in this thing.
So far so good
This is a pretty nice bag. It’s stylish and roomy and I like that you can roll/cinch the top. It’s the easiest thing to install. No hardware required. The separate pocket for the U-lock was a selling point for me, but I do have to take the lock apart in order for it to fit. It will not fit width-wise if it’s attached. Not a big deal for me. For the price I wish it had a carry strap but I bought one separately. The bag is attached to the rack by Velcro, so I’m not sure how much it will hold up over time if you take it on and off all the time, but we’ll see. I like the versatility of being able to take it off and carry it with me if I need to, though, and it’s a lot less bulky than panniers.
Great not perfect
If only this bag had a shoulder strap. The lack of one limits its functionality
It's ok, but...
It's not a bad bag, but not as big as I hoped it would be. Also, if I remove it to carry along once I arrive at destination, there is no carry strap. If I left it on my bike, the bag would surely disappear before I return. I'll be sending it back to rei
