Poorly designed in the toe area
I was very excited to recieve these in the mail today after waiting 10 days. I ordered the same size as my regular Tevas but unfortunately the designer of this shoe completely missed the boat on the toe size. The ankle strap and the top of the foot strap are perfect but the toe strap isn't even close to having enough length to close over my toes. As I mentioned it's the same size as my other Tevas. Very, very disappointing and it's such a simple mistake. I'll take them back to my local REI and look for another brand.
Great, but wish they came in a wide!
Loved these sandals. The heavy duty sandal with both cross stability and cushioning. The only downside for me is that I have very wide feet, and even with an extra size the pad, limited by the small toe strap, was too narrow for my foot.
Super Comfortable and Versatile
Very comfortable fit, easily a very good hiking shoe. There are any negatives about this product. I wear them most days as I have problems keeping my feet in a tennis shoe.
Comfortable hiking sandal
These hiking sandals are very comfortable! They adjust in 3 spots (heel, ankle, & toe) to get the fit just right. I was debating on a size 8.5 vs 9, glad I got the 9.
Some of the best Teva has ever made
Teva has really hit a home run with the Grandview Max sandals. They are really more open toed shoes than sandals, given the overall design and thickness, but that comes with the advantages of deep treads and cushioned footbeds that would be hard to do on a thinner platform. They are quite expensive, but I find them very durable and seem like they will last a long time. I've been wearing Teva sandals for years, but these are probably the best I've ever worn. They have the stability of the Terra Fi line, the water-friendly materials of the Hurricane line, and the secure strapping system of the discontinued Hurricane Alp line. They also use Vibram soles, which I have not seen on a Teva sandal since the Universal Trail. They do take some getting used to because they're a much different fit and feel from the traditional Teva sandals, and they can also feel a bit narrow. But once you break them in a bit, they are extremely comfortable, especially the uppers which seems to be a meshy, neoprene material. I also find the Velcro straps very secure and allow for a lot of adjustment, although the strap that goes over the toes does seem to be a little short, I really have to strap it down tight to get a good connection. (Maybe I should have sized up?) I find the overall size accurate. I normally wear size 9 in Tevas, and these fit perfect. Perhaps I could have gotten away with 9.5, but these fit and feel just fine. They are serious overkill for most activities, especially daily walking, but for certain environments, these will be hard to beat. It's pretty hard to find negatives. They may not work for wider feet since the straps can get pretty tight. They are pricey. These are very much going to be niche and overkill for the vast majority of people, but compared to some of the other high end Teva lines, I think these are the best ones.
