So Good I'm Not Allowed to Use It

I purchased this to go with my Mantis, but have not had the chance to really use it for myself because my dogs keep taking it. I spent 3 nights in 40-50 F weather and my two pups curled up underneath it each night for warmth. I was able to throw it over my shoulders while sitting around the fire for some insulation and it worked really well. I cannot speak to its durability yet, but I can speak to its weight and its size. The Bobcat is remarkably light and comes with its own stuff sack that allowed me to fit both my sleeping bag and Bobcat in the bottom of my Gregory Baltoro pack.

You want warm and light - goooo Bobcat!

I have the original Bobcat and Love it. I love how warm it is yet light. I do use it mostly as an under quilt with the Mantis it came with on Kickstarter. When I saw that you added the features of the field blankets (which my family fights over at camp [no more - they all got one for Christmas;)], it was a no brainer - get a Bobcat for Daddy who is 91. Yes, he will still camp with us, but this is for every day. Poncho mode helps when out with his great greats plus the few quiet times he spends on the couch to watch his favorite movies (anything with Robert Duvall - what's not to like about Secondhand Lions!) A great product made greater!

Outstanding blanket

This bag is top notch, from the packaging to the quilt material. You can tell Kammok focuses on quality. I have had the opportunity to us the blanket multiple times (all inside) and will say it is slippery when just in blanket mode. But, if you synch one end, sleeping bag style, this blanket is almost perfect. The multiple functions of this blanket are what lead me to buy it over others. The only thing I would change is making the poncho neck hole fully sealable, not just teo snaps. I could feel a breeze from the opening. All in all, amazing blanket that I would buy again right now.

Amazing UL underquilt and a blanket?!?

I'm a hammock nerd, and I've been building the ultimate extremely tiny pocket sized day hike kit with the Roo single And Python straps, and I was looking around for the best ultra light underquilt to go with it. This amazingly versatile and comfy blanket utterly blows any other underquilt out of the water. It is made to integrate with all of the kammok hammocks with dedicated snaps, and is weirdly warm despite its small size. I can fit a Roo double, straps, a water filter, two bottles, the bobcat as the underquilt and a fire belly as the over quilt ALL in a 22 liter daypack!

A perfectly nice blanket

This is a great blanket, but not exactly suited to my needs. I really can't fault it because it's intended use is for hammock people. The blanket is warm and cozy. But right out of the box it has a wicked static charge- yikes. I own the Field Blanket, the Bobcat but my favorite is my Mountain blanket. I prefer the fleece and the fabric on it. I wish I'd gotten a second one because my husband also loves the mountain blanket and we battle over who gets it during movie time. Oh well, I have the synthetic one coming in the spring and look forward to the pretty green color.

Almost perfect.

I’m impressed by how warm and comfortable my Bobcat 45 is. I have had it for about a month and a half now and have used it as a poncho, an over quilt, under quilt and in sleeping bag configuration. As an over quilt I was comfortable for a few hours in 40F weather. I also used it as an extra layer, over my Summer weight sleeping bag (rated down to 45F) and slept warm and cozy all night in 25F weather. My only complaint is that the head opening needs one more snap because the gap between the two snaps it comes with, tends to open and cause a draft. I added an additional snap in the center of the opening and that fixed the problem. The quilt also tends to shed (molt?) small feathers that work their way through the fabric.

Handy!

My Bobcat just arrived in great shape. The fabric is silky soft, which is pleasant to the touch, but means the quilt will slip off during the night if not secured. I was pleased to note that it's a bit lighter than my old summer sleeping bag (15°C / 59°F), however it takes up quite a bit more room in my backpack. Fair enough, as it - unlike my sleeping bag - can be used as a poncho, and when laid out flat, also covers a larger surface than my sleeping bag does. Looking forward to the first chilly night of autumn!.

Really great do it all camp quilt

I've used my bobcat both as a camp blanket, a sleeping bag replacement, and just this weekend as an underquilt for my Mantis for the first time. It's nice and warm and fairly compact in its stuff sack. Also really light so I was truly impressed with how warm it was for the weight. As an underquilt it definitely did the trick keeping me from getting too cold once temps got a little lower overnight. You can probably find a lower priced camp quilt elsewhere, but not with as much versatility. One thing to note is that there's a bit of a learning curve on how snug to make the elastic cords on the ends. If you pull them too tight, the snaps will end up coming undone when you get into the hammock. Keep them a little looser than you think you'll need and you'll be good to go.

Great underquilt that won't break the bank

Got my bobcat and took it on a weekend hammock trip into the Adirondacks in mid October. It did really well the first night with temps in the low to mid 50's. I was actually warm enough to not need a blanket on top. The second night got down into the 30's and it still kept me plenty warm. The snaps are nice since I was able to close it up a bit more to keep warm. I did notice a slight draft coming from where the "Pancho" cut out is, but a tee shirt stuffed between the quilt and hammock was enough to fix it. Only real downside was the the shock cord had a couple stitches through it so it wouldn't pull tight. As long as they stand behind the lifetime warranty I'm not worried about it coming unstitched anywhere. Overall I'd say is a great balance of warmth, size/weight, and price.
