Decided to try these hiking boots. I tried the trail runners last year hiking instead of traditional hiking boots. (I have worn them trail running for years). Just finished several days in Coconino national forest. Great traction comfortable hiking. Problem is getting boots snug so it does not slip going up and down hills. The shoe has full eyelets to the top of the boots so I can’t tighten just the foot. You have to tighten the boot on the ankle also. Most hiking boots have hooks on the upper area so you can make adjustments. If the company fixes this the boots will be great.
I have worn out two pairs of these shoes doing long distance hikes. I like them because they allow me to tie them so my heel doesn’t move back and forth and create hole in the in the back. Because they have been good, I bought two pair this year for this year’s walks. Unfortunately three of the four shoes make a burping sound when walking. I am afraid that there is a problem with the assembly of the sole in the manufacturing process and the might start sole separation. Therefore I have returned them. I am going to try one more time. Hopefully a new run will be fixed.
