I bought this for wade fishing and it’s worked great. It fits comfortably over the straps of my waders and the amount of pocket space in one pocket is just enough to hold 2 of Plano 4 compartment tackle boxes. In the other pocket I keep my fishing license and phone in a Magellan waterproof phone case, but I do have to fold the top of it in order for it to fit. The pliers holder works great and the magnets are secure but it’s also very easy to take out your pliers. On the back there is a strap that I have my net attached to with some magnet carabiners so it’s easy to take off and use and it’s out of the way. Overall it’s a great PFD for fishing!
Replacing my old NRS Clearwater vest and decided on the Chinook because of the extra pockets. This vest is very comfortable and works well with both my regular kayak (Eddyline Skylark) and a fishing kayak seatback (Hobie Mirage Outback). The carved inner shaping of the flotation panels really makes a difference. I’m 5’10” and 145lbs and the XS/Med fits me well.
