Rear Light is a joke!
Smith seems to be behind the curve on innovation. I think its really missing a magnetic latch. Which would help to make it easy to latch, and be a 100% assurance that its latched. Other brands are doing this, and think its a big plus. The rear light is a joke, and not a feature. The light is weak, and requires replacing the coin cell 2023 battery when it dies. Why isn't it rechargeable? Could be much better. Fit is good, for big heads. I don't feel like Mushroom when I wear it.

light fell out immediately
Overall I like this helmet a lot, but as I have seen other customers mention, the light fell out immediately, the first time I used it. I also wish it had been rechargeable. I looked on Smith’s website to order a replacement but the replacement plus shipping is $40!! I wish I hadn’t purchased this helmet :/

Just okay

I have been using this helmet while commuting daily for just over one month. It fits well, is comfortable, and vents better than I expected. However, the lining is poor quality, with small velcro patches to hold it in place, the visor is incredibly flimsy and does not want to stay up, and the light is very cheap. It uses one CR2032 battery, so it is not very bright and the batteries do not last very long. The strap also slips easily and did not come with an extra buckle or rubber piece to hold it in place. My previous helmet was made by Bern and it was much better quality on all accounts, though it didn't vent well. I would not pay full price for this helmet.

New favorite helmet!

Received free product

I have several helmets for biking and skating, with this being the lightest. It's very comfortable and the light color will help keep the heat manageable in the hottest months. I love that there is a back safety light included and it's ready to use right out of the box!

Perfect commuter helmet!

Received free product

This is my new favorite helmet, thanks to the rear light and reflective straps. The light pops into one of the openings in the back back of the helmet and pops out just as easily. I LOVE THIS FEATURE. It's simple to use, and you can easily turn on while riding. You just push on the light once for solid or twice for flashing. Bike safety is a big concern to me, and I plan to get several more of these helmets for my teenagers. The helmet is extremely lightweight and easily adjustable with the back dial. The fabric visor is great, but I wish it was bigger and extended out a little further from the helmet.

Really good...but not perfect

Received free product

I have had this helmet for a half a year and I really like it and would recommend it, but it is not perfect. The rear light is a great feature, especially when riding in the city and commuting. However, there are two issues with this light...First, the fit is not totally tight, so it works perfectly in the city, but when riding in bumpier terrain (gravel), it tends to come off. Secondly, using the light blocks the main vent in the back and can make the helmet a bit hot in warm and humid days. The other issue I have with this helmet is the visor, which is too small to make a big difference when riding into the sun, and it sags when wet. If you are between sizes, I would recommend going with the larger one.

Comfortable enough for this Gen Xer to wear

Received free product

I know it's wrong but sometimes I "forget" to wear my helmet. Some 1980s childhood habits die hard. This helmet, I don't mind so much. Dare I say, I actually enjoy the fit dial on the back enough that I look forward to putting it on, just so I can dial it in, nice and snug. Supremely comfortable fit, decent ventilation, and the MIPS system gives me extra righteous feeling, like, yes people, this old dog CAN learn new tricks and when I do, I go ALL in.

Daily adjustments needed

Want to love this helmet but several features are unreliable. I use it to commute several days a week and every time I use it, I have to reattach the Velcro that holds the visor on. Some padding has fallen off, leaving exposed Velcro that ruins hats and hairdos. The light has fallen out so many times I’ve lost it. Most annoying is the chin strap. The tension on the adjustment is not sufficient, so I have to tighten it before each use. Overall could have been a great helmet but the hardware is seriously lacking.

Fantastic Helmet!

Purchased this a month ago and have been using multiple times a week since. Lightweight and comfortable and honestly looks perfect with my new e-bike. I can even put my lock through the hole where the light goes when I need to lock it up. Great product!

Good helmet

Comfortable and stylish. Good air flow so I’m not sweating as much as my older helmet. Red light is an added plus. Easy to adjust. Hope to never find out if this actually protects my head!
