Kept me dry in Adirondacks downpour

I bought this jacket in Black XS and wore it backpacking through 2 days of straight downpour in the Adirondacks. Kept me dry and toasty. The extra length helped keep my legs dry, which makes a big difference when you're bushwhacking or navigating overgrown trail. Appreciated that the hand pocket zippers are high enough to be accessible above a hip belt. The jacket also dries extremely fast, which was important for back-to-back days of downpour. Back ventilation was key, could have used some pit zips, but that might have compromised the best part of this jacket: the fact that it's simple and sleek enough for city wear!

Petite friendly sizing

I was able to use this multiple times at the end of rainy season before summer started and I love how light and easy it is to use! My favorite part is that I can synched up the hood to my head size which is a pro of heaving a small head. However, the only thing that bothered me is that since the hood is synched up to my small head, you cannot do the same on the neckline. What happens is that the neckline is too loose and open which made the rain water got inside to my chest. It would be great maybe to have a velcro, snap or a synched neckline to tighten it as well. But overall, I am satisfied!

Nice rain jacket, disappointing features!

Bought this jacket a month ago and pretty happy about the purchase! It is super silky, great lenght and looks really good! My only negative comments would be the underperforming water repellency (thanks to eco DWR) and waist/back adjustment that just does not function. I adjust the jacket to make it cinched and it always ends up loosened!

Perfect lightweight rain coat

Perfect lightweight rain coat! I love the back detail and it's such high quality. I typically wear either a L or XL in Arc'Teryx outerwear and opted into the XL for this purchase. I actually think a large would have fit better and still had the oversized look/layering ability, but it looks phenomenal on even in an XL! If you are between two sizes, pick the smaller one! I'm 5'8 and this was a little longer than I thought - it's about 3" above my knees. I personally was excited about the length because coats often fit too short on me, but it might be pretty long on petite folks.

Good sizing for petites

Good news for petites!!! This perfectly fits on me as a 4'11 woman. It still gives a room for layering! The length is just enough for me to stay dry as well on my bottoms! This is gonna be my go-to rain coat now.

Great all-around, lightweight, waterproof layer!

I purchased this jacket for the shoulder seasons when it can be quite rainy in the PNW with mid-range temperatures, specifically for around-town activities, including watching youth sports games. I am very satisfied with the jacket - it's lightweight and packable, so easy to throw in a pack for the day. It's completely waterproof and then length ensures my butt and upper thighs stay dry. It's roomy enough to fit a puffy layer underneath. And the hood is one of my favorite features - it fits great without any adjusting!

Salal Jacket

Love this coat it is cut fuller than the previous years so I can wear my winter sweaters under it and layer. I ordered a M not knowing this so I would definitely order a Small the next time. I got the orange color and love it. I get so many compliments on the color. This year they even put a pocket on the inside this was much needed for a place to put your cards or money if you are like me and put your hands in your pockets all the time.

The Jacket that can take you everywhere!

I bought this for power walking and as an all season travel jacket. I am happy to report the Salal Jacket will do very nicely! Good coverage from the elements. Note length. Elastic at back help keeps cold air out and warm air in which is great but creates a look not as flattering. on shorter women. Very light weight and style makes it incredibly versatile for travel. Even looks great with a dress.

LOVE this jacket!

This jacket is now a staple of mine in my wardrobe. The perfect length for walking the dog or city adventures. I got a size medium in black and love the fit. Over all it's breathable, lightweight and stylish. I also like the fact that the bird is on the sleeve for this specific style. Most Arc'teryx I prefer to have the branding visible, but it's a nice add on the sleeve for this specific style.
