Crystal Clear sound! Extensive battery life!
Loved sound quality, noticed the expansive speaker compared to the tiny sound hole on my openrun. Battery lasted forever! Wish I could get 3 more clicks on the volume, still not loud enough.
Openrun pro 2
These headphones are Awesome sounding and super comfortable! I would recommend to Anyone.
OpenRun Pro vs OpenRun Pro 2
I also own the OpenRun Pro. The OpenRun Pro 2 headphones sound a lot better and have more sound options through the shokz app. If I am wearing earplugs at work I need to change the sound to classic mode, which in turn makes the sound quality the same as the original OpenRun Pro. The original OpenRun Pro uses a proprietary magnetic charging cord. I really like this cord because it has a decent length and is easy to hook up to the headphones. The disadvantage to this cord is proprietary if you lose it, you need to order another one. The OpenRun Pro 2 uses the widely available USB-C, though the one it comes with is on the short side. The main button used to play/pause music or answer the phone is smaller on the OpenRun Pro 2, I prefer the larger one on the original OpenRun Pro. Either of these headphones are great if you work in construction. You can converse with people around you, though if you're on a phone call the people around you will think you are talking to them. A lot of construction sites do not allow headphones because you cannot hear the dangers around you. With this type of headphone they have no argument because your ears are not plugged/covered and you can hear the environment around you. It is 2025, I believe I've had my original OpenRun Pro headphones since 2021. I wear them Monday through Friday for about 8 hours a day. I charge them after work on my drive home. I have never had them run out of battery life. The OpenRun Pro 2 headphones are about a month old, I have had zero battery issues so far.
Shokz Open Air 2
Very nice sound, but not enough volume, My original Shokz have more sound range with ear plugs and without , so when when working outside, hence like mowing or other outdoor power equipment usage, I use my older set. They may not sound quite as nice but they perform better as far as volume goes with a broader range of volume control. The new open air 2 Shokz sound better as far as dynamic range but lack the volume control of my original ones. So more often than not I grab my old set for use, if Im just hiking, walking or riding a bike where outside sound is relatively subdued I’ll use the Open Air 2.
They're great headphones
As a legally blind person, I absolutely love Shokz headphones. I have a pair of OpenRun Pro Mini-Original and love the ability to hear my music or phone calls with my ears open so I can hear traffic and the environment around me. I received a Try Before You Buy set of OpenRun Pro 2 Mini and can definitely notice the difference in them compared to older version. The OpenRun Pro 2 has a nice new feature for air conduction that helps remove vibration in the headset and improves bass, and the increased volume makes it even nicer to be able to jam out to music and still have the ability to hear what going on around me. These are a perfect gift for everyone. Especially those who are vision impaired or blind and want to have the ability to hear the environment around them while walking.
Amazing quality
I've had these for about a month and a half, originally I bought them because I was looking for something to replace my old Galaxy Buds because I was sick of having something in my ears all day. I will admit I am throughly surprised at the sound quality. I use them for cycling (they have great sound at speeds up to 18MPH), jogging, weight-lifting and for work calls. I am constantly getting compliments and questions about them for sound quality of the microphone since my office can get noisy but they do an amazing job at blocking out background noise. I've even been on calls with co-workers that sit right next to me and other's on the call didn't get echo while we were both talking. I love that I can wear them and still be aware of my surroundings as well. Perfect for cycling.
Game changing!
I am a big music listener, I have nice studio monitors and studio grade headphones, so I was skeptical about bone conducting headphones. I realize these serve a totally different purpose than hifi listening, but I still wasn’t sure how I’d feel. A few weeks in, and I’m loving them! The sound quality is incredible, easily on par with in ears like AirPods and the like. For working out, walking the dogs, or taking calls on the go, the open ear design is phenomenal. With earplugs in, the sound quality is even better and great for working in a noisy cafe or just trying to get some privacy. Love these so far and can’t recommend them enough!
Secure, and safe with decent sound quality
Just what I wanted, Bose has always been my go to due to fitting securely in my ears. They have discontinued the sound sport leaving very little options for a big ear whole consumer. These fit securely, allow you to hear around you while providing good quality sound. I had low expectations coming from Bose but very happy with my purchase
Original OpenRun was better
Pros - comfortable and stylish. Charge seems to last long, probably around 20 hours of use before it needs a charge. Cons - Not bone conduction like previous model I owned. Seems to be more like small speakers near my ears. This doesn’t work the same for me as previous models did because of a hearing loss. Cannot use in shower, sound is terrible if they are damp at all. This was the main reason I purchased a third pair of shokz/aftershokz. This was very disappointing and considering returning for another model. Really wanted to get behind what was marketed as the flagship model of a brand I’ve loved for years but this model isn’t the same for me.
Finally Upgraded from Aeroplex
Great sound overall. The new technology delivers as promised. These headphones still give you the ability to have situational awareness while running. The bone conduction mode is decent but pales in comparison to bass boost. If you’re considering upgrading now is the time. One thing I will miss is the soft voice that was on the aeroplex. The beeps are kind of annoying IMO. Small gripe and totally subjective. Please understand when you buy these that these headphones aren’t designed to give great sound if you’re doing something like mowing your yard. I tried it. Didn’t work. LOL Great product, great brand, great warranty, customer for life.
