It is difficult for me to find shoes that fit well since my feet are wide and the right one has a bunion. If I go up a size, invariably the shoes will not fit at the back and my heels will slip and cause blisters on the back of my ankles. Enter the KEEN Hightrail Waterproof hiking shoes. I wanted a rugged waterproof shoe to wear traveling and that can go from urban streets to hiking trails whether rain or shine. These are comfy and fit my feet like I've had them for years. I usually wear a 7 1/2 (US) and I did go up to an 8 and there is no heel slippage.
I've been trying to find a pair of light weight and waterproof shoes for traveling for a while now. I didn't buy these for hiking but am sure they will perform well. I have achilles tendonitis so I am picky with the shoes I buy and wear. These check every box of mine - wide toe box, grippy and not super high arch. I ordered these on REI's website and to my surprise and delight, they were delivered the very next day! I was able to walk around a bit in town and they were really comfortable. Let's be honest, Keen is never going to win in the aesthetic department but they are comfortable, which is far more important for me.
very comfy. true to size. fun color choices
Love Keens! Very comfy. Little tight in the heel, but Ive stretched it out. Little bit bulky, but worth it for the comfort!! (My favorite shoes are Keen newport sandals, but needed something for winter.)
I returned these because they ran small (esp for wool socks), but I tried to wear them with my thin no show bombas socks and after a day of wearing them inside the heel started to rub. I recommended sizing up at least a half size on these.
I really wanted to like these shoes. They are so cute and lightweight and I thought they would be the perfect trail shoe for me for hiking, but no matter what size I tried on, they rubbed uncomfortably when I walked. I tried on multiple pairs in different sizes in the store and either they were too big, but rubbing in the tongue area against the top of my foot, or the right size and rubbing in the heel/achilles area. I ended up buying the KS86 for walking shoes because they were a lot more comfortable, but I'm still on the hunt for the right hiking shoe.
I was disappointed in the quality. These are the 4th pair of Keen's and the eyelets were the laces go through started ripping on both shoes after wearing them only about a dozen times. REI was wonderful with the return but I'm concerned that the same thing might happen with the new pair. I'm hoping that the quality of Keens has not gone down. They tend to be a comfortable shoe.
I've been a huge fan of Keen for years. I've owned a couple pairs of hiking shoes and some sandals that easily lasted 10 years with lots of use and were very comfortable, therefore I thought online ordering would be no problem but I was so wrong. Painful rubbing of the tongue and both sides of each foot. I don't have any foot issues and my feet are average width. I was so disappointed. So cute, lightweight and waterproof. I thought they'd be just what I was looking for.
Keen has been my go to shoe for three decades. The toe bumper, and generous toe box make this brand a winner. However, the last pair I ordered were way too large. I tried inserts to no avail. Also, and foremost, I received a duplicate pair--same style, yet neither fit properly. I was in an accident (not due to the shoes), and was unable to return both pairs. And now I have two pairs of shoes I'm unable to wear. Keen. . . I used to luv ya, but will not order from you again. Thanks for the memories.
I like that they’re waterproof. But they’re lacking an arch. So, sadly it really isn’t wise for me to wear them. I would like to return them, I’m not sure I can , I wore them ,it’s unfortunate. I’m also sad that REI isn’t hiring people that are trained in fitting shoes .I guess it’s another job that will go to AI. Thank you
