Sizing Notes

For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

Runs a bit small
They seem to run a half size small. Order the next EU size up. Other than that, quality seems to be very good.

Lateral instability/ I keep twisting my ankles
I really, really wanted to love these shoes and initially they seemed to fit perfectly, but wearing them on the trail I have twisted my ankles multiple times. Took me a while to figure out why. Looking at the shape of the heel, I can see that the lateral heel strike corner of the heel is much more narrow than all of my other shoes I compared them to. So, I can see how this would happen. Have had other trail runners but never had this problem!!! I'm so disappointed! I'm hoping one of the other La Sportivas will work better.

Fell Out of Love Fast in France

As other reviewers mentioned-buy half size up- and I did. Length is perfect however as another reviewer mentioned, the ankle and heel support is poor. I tried various lacing techniques and they either cinched down my instep causing pain and restriction of movement after some hours of hiking or the laces created a stranglehold on my ankles causing discomfort. I own at least 4 pairs of La Sportiva in other models and love them. Getting the sizing right is challenging with European sizes and my other La Sportivas have been consistent in size, fit, stability and comfort. This model did not work for me and I will be returning them after I return from France. The durability and stability of La Sportiva is Top! They last and last! I really wanted to love them. Sadly, two months in France wasn’t enough to make us fall in love. Thank you REI for your awesome return policy and customer support. I have been a member since 1989.

Nice shoe but run small

I like these shoes and wanted them to work out for long walks and light hiking. I have had several pairs of Raptors and they are great and sizing is good and reliable. These Jackal IIs however run small. I bought a 9 1/2+, which is the same as other La Sportivas I own and have worn for going on six years, but these felt more like a scrunched 9 1/2. I need the extra room in my toe box to allow my foot to swell and not get crushed during long walks up and down hills.

Great trail running shoe!

Love the light weight quality, but sturdiness of these trail shoes. Really comfortable too!

Runs Small

La Sportiva has been my preferred trail running shoe for about a decade and I cannot seem to find my size in this shoe. I am usually an 8.5, and having gone through the 8.5 and the 9, I am debating going for the 9.5 or scrapping the whole idea altogether. I do love a sale🥴. There is enough width in the toe box but not enough length for me.

Lightweight and Comfortable

These shoes are such a fun color scheme and I have received many compliments on that. But best of all, they are lightweight and very comfortable with great traction on the trails. I bought two pairs of trail runners and tried them on together and could not believe how light these ones felt.

Did not care for these shoes

I did not like this pair of La Sportivas! I had a pair several years ago and i loved them! These just did not feel good on my feet. The pair i had were very comfortable & these felt cheap on my feet. I cant explain it any other way. I returned them for a refund.
