The perfect layer
This is now my favorite piece of clothing. I wear it almost every day. Please restock small in mountain shadow so I can order a backup!
Functional Hoodie
I ordered a large and its a pretty tight fit. Also, I'm not sure it was meant to be worn as a base layer as the zipper chafes on the inside of the shirt. However, it does provide adequate warmth and wicking. I would order a size up from what you're used to.
Nice, but
I needed a new middle layer and this is just ok. its too tight to have more than a tshirt underneath it. it's pretty thin (grey is almost translucent). Not too much warmth provided. It's a bit too tight for my taste in chest and arms (42" chest/32" waist)
Amazing warmth to weight ratio!
Love this top. Extremely versatile with hood and quarter zip, you can really dial in the level of warmth you need based on your activity level. I fall in between large and medium sizing. With this piece I liked the fit of the large better.
Great Pull-over
Very lightweight comfortable hoodie. Being 6’5” it is difficult to get the sleeve length to be right and I have found that all Stio jackets and long sleeves are perfect (whereas Patagonia runs much shorter).
All purpose hoody
Very versatile mid layer or just by itself! This hoody is very warm despite being somewhat light could be a nice mid layer under a shell Quality was top notch
Great layer
Love my new hoodie. Lightweight and easily packable. Kept me warm on recent airline flights and the early fall evenings. Really pleased with this purchase.
Stio Hoody
Hoody that doesn’t disappoint! Wore it and only it under ski jacket in 3 degree weather. Kept Me warm and comfortable. Only wish it had thumbies!
Epic
Comfy piece that also rocks looks wise. STIO always impresses, but this article truly lives up to the script. Thanks STIO!
Tremendously Versatile
Purchased this hoody mid-August of this year and I’ve finally had the opportunity to wear it in a variety of temperatures between 40°-65°F. Thus far, I’m extremely pleased how comfortable it has been to wear. It isn’t the warmest fleece I’ve ever worn, but considering the fabric it isn’t meant to be. However, a light base layer remedies that concern. But even in the 40’s I wasn’t chilly while moving. What it may lose in warmth it gains in wicking, outstanding breathability, and versatility. For someone who generally runs on the warmer side, I was astounded how comfortable I was in full sun with temps in the mid-60’s. Pack this, a base layer and a shell and you can cover a wide temperature range at varying altitudes and have all-day comfort. Truly a great garment and an amazing fabric. My only negative comment applies to sizing. I purchased Mountain Shadow XL and also tried on the light gray in the same size at the Bend, OR retail store. The sizing of the gray felt like it was a medium or slightly larger. Perhaps this was an anomaly with that particular garment, but it was definitely a much snugger fit than the blue. I’d love to see this offered in a half-zip non-hoody.
