Solid product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initial thoughts really good - very nicely made, attention paid to stitching. Plenty of pockets. Fit is good - exactly as described and the M fit is as expected. The built-in-liner isn't something I'm going to use very often in Europe, but it's removable and I guess I can wear them around the house. Would have gone for a pure shell that's resort rather than freeride aimed - their Goretex shell is a bit pricey for me to rag around resort and park. Downside - material feels a little shiny and plasticky - my previous pair felt a lot more like a regular pair of trousers. Not terrible, but worth noting.
Weird fit, weird liners. Snap keeps opening.
First off I do not think these run big. Most 686 does but these are pretty true to size. They’re okay pants but have a few quirks. 1. The rise is very low. I do not understand this. It really only works if you like to sag your pants. If that’s your steeze go for it. If you want to do any sort of walking in them look elsewhere. I was hoping these would be good for backcountry but they were terrible. Main reason I returned them. 2. The liner is poorly executed. The pockets and waistband are lined with a crinkly plastic sort of material that makes noise continually. Why not fleece pockets? I was hoping these would be some joggers I could wear but no joy. They just aren’t cozy. 3. The snap kept opening on me. For the life of me I’ll never understand why some outdoor gear companies use snaps on the waist band instead of a button.
BRUH THE WAIST SIZE (OVERALL GREAT STYLE)
I am 6'1" 180lb and i wear 32/33 waist and typically 34 inseam. I have worn the standard 686 cargo pants for years in size medium so I got a pair of M smarty pants and dood, AWESOME pants! But the waist (even with the fleece pants on) could definitely accommodate a 35/36 waist... Im gonna keep the pants (I returned a pair of gore-tex volcom pants because they were subpar to the fit of 686 when wearing boots and in riding stance) but 686, can y'all figure out the waist band so I can by some more pants, there are tons of tall skinny doods out here that need a waist band true to size and a length that wont ride up when bending down (the pants have good articulation and length where they dont ride up).
Great pant
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best pant in the biz!! Do it is great. Not too baggy not too slim. Could use more colours.
Very good warmth and high quality- only one minor complaint
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable to wear and have not gotten to wear them in action yet to test the waterproofing ability but I do know they provide a lot of comfort. They color and design is super nice on them and quality product. My only complaint is how tight the liner pant is if I’m wearing another pair of pants underneath and that they pop out whenever I try to take the snow pants off. Otherwise they work great and that’s just one minor inconvenience that I can work through. I wonder how they will do mobility wise. The color does look super good w my snowboarding paints
Toooooo Big
These pants were HUGE! I looked at the sizing guide and I’m 5’4” with a 28 waist. Small was the suggestion. Trying on a Small felt like I was wearing a size 40 waist. There was so much extra material that it didn’t seem functional to use these pants with a belt. It’s for sure not a slim fit. The material and quality feel and look great. I’m hesitant to purchase the extra small because I’ll have to pay for shipping if I need to return them. I don’t like that return process. I already had to pay for one pair to be sent back.
Great Jacket and Pants
I've worn this skiing for 17 days so far this season (jacket and pants). Conditions ranging from mid thirties and sunny, to single digits and cloudy. It's performed flawlessly. I don't put the liners in unless its in the teens and cloudy/windy. The hard-shells alone, with a couple layers underneath have been more than adequate most days. Wind resistance is good. Water resistance is good as well. No complaints whatsoever. Like others have said, I definitely feel that I got way more than what I paid for in this setup.
I would give 5 stars
I would give 5 stars for the style , appearance, and if it has the waterproof and breathability these claim to have. But only 1 or 2 stars for the sizing guide. I normally would take a size 36 pant, but after reading other reviews I should order the L instead of XL. I'm thinking the M would fit me better as with the velcro sinched all the way forward, these are still a little too loose. I'll wear a belt with these, so that is OK. The sizing guide also stated they would have had a 30.5 inch inseam, which would have been perfect for me, but they are at least 32 inches according to my tape measure. There was two spots where the outside stitching was sewn to the inner nylon, so I had to cut these places, then hand sew the two holes. I am looking forward to trying them out next week!
Great pants
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good pants so far. I like having the removable fleece liner/joggers. With the fleece inside they are very warm/borderline hot for my conditions so I’ve mostly used them without the fleece liner and my own base layers. It’s nice having the versatility for the colder night laps though. I got the XL size. The length is perfect but the waist is a little big. I had topull in the waist adjustment to it's tightest and use a belt. I’m about 6’2” , 220 lbs, athletic build.
Killer pants!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just a great pair of pants. They offer a ton of pockets, for safe keeping of any goods you may be carrying. Water proof even on rainy days yet somehow still breathable in those conditions. The inner liner is so comfortable and warm, I could wear them all winter. Great for pajamas and casual wear. I have yet to wear both pants together, because it’s just not cold enough here. The style is amazing too. Feels like the old school sessions days, as it is a looser fit.
