When I first tried them on, I thought it was odd how much padding was in front. And after just getting back from my first ride with these shorts, I now understand that there is no padding where it matters. I am returning them this afternoon.
The "3 in. stay-put XRT bands for comfort and mile-after-mile compression grip" really suck and provide no compression. Don't waste your time ordering these. You'll just have to return them.
I bought these shorts, because they seemed closest to the two REI shorts that I already have. I would have given these five stars, except that they cost so much more than the REI ones, and the padding was thicker than I like. Full disclosure: the thin padding was what I liked about the REI shorts. ALL the shorts offered now are too thick for my kind of riding.
Was looking forward to trying these since the lower priced Pearl Izumi shorts that I have purchased for a few years just to wear while taking a spin class were no longer available at REI. Very disappointed. Wasn’t expecting much but didn’t think they would be as disappointing as they were. Ample padding. But shorts don’t fit. Too much padding length wise in the front. Not extending long enough in the back. Opening at legs is very baggy. Will be returning them.
Mid level price for upper level gear. Sized accurately.
Canari shorts seem to fit great up until the leg openings , where the tend to get baggy. Not sure why they can’t get it right here… it just needs better elastic
