Scarpa  Rapid LT Approach Shoes - Men's

I was excited about getting these to replace my old Rapid GTXs. These are a disappointment. The tongue is thick and springy foam, which make them very difficult to get adequately snug without inevitably loosening. The old GTX had thin, firm, but comfortable tongue material that made them very easy to lace snugly. The laces on these shoes are short. These also do not have the double locking eyelets at the top, which further make them unnecessarily difficult to get a secure fit. I've only worn these to walk the dog, but the fit was poor enough that I was starting to feel hot spots, something that I've never had from Scarpas. These also are not as light as advertised. These are supposed to be lighter than the GTX, but I just weighed one of each shoe and these are about 1.2 ounces heavier than the GTX, that with the GTX currently carrying extra mud from the last outing. So, the main reason I bought the LT, thinking it would be a better, lighter version of the GTX is not the case. Pretty disappointing from a brand that I'm otherwise a fan of.
