No issues, thick sole; comfortable.

Hopefully this helps someone for fit… couldn’t find any reviews or info for sizing… I like the shoes, very little use, but I dig them. Nice and lightweight, but definitely a chunky hiking shoe. I was sort of expecting more of a running shoe with a more aggressive sole, and these are not that; not bad or disappointing, just not that. I’m consistently a size 9 in Vans unless sizing runs small or narrow… I went with 9.5 and I’m good with that. With slightly thicker socks the shoes def felt a bit snug on the sides, so I’m good with 9.5… 9 may have worked or been a tad on the small side. The shoes don’t have a full gusset but I got them on just fine, normally slip-ons are a pain for me. If your foot runs wide I’d def size up or if your normally between half sizes you may want to size up a bit. YMMV

Decent but not for me

Used these for about 260 miles on the Appalachian trail. Wanted to give them a shot so I put a fair amount of use through them. I switched to a pair of altras for their wider toe box and weight. Pros: -Water proof toe box (could be a positive or a negative) -Draw string laces - rugged - average price for a trail runner/ trail shoe - true to size Cons: - Narrow toe box - heavy - started to rip a bit after 2 weeks of heavy use Over all these are ok shoes but not really for heavy use especially in the summer. I'd buy again because they look cool But wouldn't do too many miles in them.

I can't wait to get this shoe!

You know, I would buy a lot more shoes from Vans if you bothered to make them in my size of 15 men's. I started wearing Vans in about 1979 when raced BMX and also rode skateboards. I have continued to wear Vans since then, but ever since my feet have grown larger than size thirteen I have only worn your Skate High model. I have wanted to get your winterized models and today I see a XC model that I would love me to get. Unfortunately, you do not make them in size 15. It's a shame, I wish that you make the investment in creating some of your offerings in larger sizes.

Excellent hiking shoe

I've owned several pairs or La Sportiva Wildcats, as well as Solomon trail runners for hiking. I find these those to be more comfortable and functional than my previous shoes. The arch and footbed are very supportive, without being too bulky for uneven terrain. The Vibram sole grips uneven slopes, rocky terrain, and anything else you throw at it. The water resistance isn't as aggressive as Gore-Tex, so your feet don't get too hot. They're stylish, and I receive compliments on them all the time. I cannot recommend these enough. It would be great if they offered the same shoe without water resistance for when it's really hot in the summer in CO and AZ.

Comfortable flexible

I can honestly say I love these shoes and would consider a second pair. They're a bit pricey but I feel it was a good investment. I walked my dog in them and there was no need to break in; surprisingly flexible and durable. I will say they are not breathable but they're water resistant so I'd imagine that's why (haven't tested walking in rain). Btw, I have a wide foot and had no issues with these. My shoe size in vans is 7 men and 7.5 men (depending on shoe style) I went with the 7.5 men/9 women. Love the colors too!

Absolutely love! Want them in every color!

Absolutely love them I have own many hiking shoes and these are by far one of my top 5! I hike weekly and bike daily and these have been my first choice of footwear ever since I purchased them. I even got my wife a pair and she absolutely loves them as-well! Definitely gonna get myself some of the others color-ways. I also really recommend these for anyone, I've always used Salomon's & Hoka's but I like these so much more! Van's definitely killed it with these!

Comfortable, unsure of the quick lace system

Comfortable right out of the box, the MTE sole & footbed might be a little more comfortable for me though. They look great, a little clunky at first but I think after a few wears they'll be on point. Unsure of the quick lace system, not sure what to do with the excess lace when pulled. Was hoping to find black laces on the website, as they come with the other colorway shoes but, no luck. In the end im satisfied, had a few second looks already...

Great shoes in the shop!

I wear these as a foreman in an auto repair shop, and these shoes have been great! The traction is incredible even after walking in oil or coolant. Have not seen and reaction on the materials from the harsh chemicals they have been in contact with. Took a minute to get used to the laces but when you tighten them they do not come loose until you loosen them. Will probably buy again when these wear out! #sweepstakes

Best Hiking Shoes for my first ever hike

My bachelor trip was coming up and I've been wearing vans since I was 10 years old, my first time hiking at a 600ft elevation so I went with vans of course. Comfortable and dependable. Vans shows have never let me down and will continue to wear them till I'm 80

They're Stiff!!

First off, love the design. They are comfortable on the footbed but the Gortex material inside makes the toe box extremely stiff. As a result, when I walk that stiff material bends and cuts right into the top of my big toe.
