Almost perfect - REI please read
This hat is almost perfect. The only issue is that it's not very breathable. The mesh lined vents are ineffective for a couple reasons. One, the mesh is a separate piece of fabric sewed into a large part of the inner side panel effectively making it insulated. Two, the ventilation slats are way too small and air doesn't move through them well. REI READ THIS: make the side panels all mesh - no double layer. Or add laser perforations all along the sides and ditch the mesh and vents all together. This will make the hat perfect and I'd pay 50% more for it.
So nice I bought it twice
Lost my original after several years of regular use. Loved that it was packable due to the folding brim and dried very quickly. Went to buy another some time ago and was bummed that REI no longer sold it. I was super excited to see it back it stock.
Great fishing and hiking hat
This is the 3rd folding brim hat from REI that I have bought. The first one got faded and stained after about 100 days use as my primary fly fishing and hiking hat. It’s light wt. fast drying and the sunglass holder is great. Bought a new one to use for overseas travel and lost in the ocean when a sudden breeze blew it into the surf while fly fishing for reef fish. My new one is the replacement for that. I still use the old faded one for my day to day hiking and fish even after three years use.
my favorite hat! I wear it hiking, kayaking, gardening, bad hair day, etc. I own an olive green one. I love the folding brim, makes it easy to wash and pack. I want to get another since I wear the one I have All the time and it's stained and stuff. BUT I'm very disappointed that there is very little color selection! You don't even offer the olive color anymore. My boyfriend owns the gray colored one and the blue is just not for me. Make some more colors please!
I love this hat. I wear it hiking, kayaking, gardening, bad hair day, lol etc. The folding vrim makes it easy to wash and pack. I currently own an olive green color hat and would like to get another one since I wear mine all the time and it's stained and stuff. my boyfriend owns the gray color and the blue is not me. You dont even offer the olive color anymore. Please make more colors!
Fantastic all around hat!
This hat is great! The hat has a pretty low crown which is exactly what I was looking for. It also has great ventilation and will keep you pretty cool throughout the day. I wore this hat almost everyday on a trip to Scotland and it was great. The folding brim made it perfect to pack in a bag or stash in your pocket.
A Great Cap
I bought this cap to replace the one just like it that I wore out. I was so happy to see that REI still carried these. I really love the foldability. I can fold it, stick it in my pocket, and at times forget that it is even there. It also launders quite well.
Perfect hiking hat
I have 2 of these and they're great. Durable, good fit, comfortable, washable... and best of all a folding bill for those times you wanna stash in your back pocket or backpack. Would love some other colors....
Good hat
I was skeptical to buy since the brim folds in the middle thinking it would have a triangular shape. Pleasantly surprised it looks great. I have a small head and this is just slightly too big. Nice fabric
Nice Folding Cap
I have had one of these caps, which obviously I liked enough to buy another. The best part of this cap is the ability to fold it and put it in a pocket when I am not wearing it.
