Brighter than the old style.
100% improvement over the old style. Much brighter all around and with blinking or solid options.
Works great but...
I wear - actually wore - the SlapLit while rowing at night. Great visibility and reasonably comfortable on my moderately sized arm. However.... it tended to peel itself off my arm occasionally - which is okay if you happen to catch it Well, finally I couldn't and it is lost to the river (causing a capsize in my attempt to keep it in the boat.) It didn't reach all the way around my arm so the strong spring curls eventually curls the ends under and ultimately rolls itself off of my arm. I'm tempted to try another and find a way to use something to tame it.
Hi Paul, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. I wonder if the TagLit would be a better product for you in this application. We are happy to send you once to try, all we need you to do is please contact Customer Service at info@niteize.com or 800.678.6483 M-F 8 AM – 5 PM MST. We'll take if from there.
My favourite light I've ever had!
I was gifted one of these about 5 years ago for running at night and with on and off use over the last 5 years I'm consistently impressed with its performance! I now bike in temperatures as cold as -30*C (-22*F) and the majority of my rechargeable gear dies instantly once I hit -20*C but this thing keeps working no matter how cold it gets! I actually can't believe it. I hardly charge it and its never failed me. I love wrapping it around my bike seat post, handlebars, or ankle.
You are legally blind if you can't see these
I owned a previous version of the Slap Wrap (and still do). This version has the advantage of being rechargeable, which I hope will have considerable life, although that can't be judged until time passes. This version is considerably brighter and slightly wider than the prior model. If anybody can hit me with their vehicle while wearing two of these wraps, then they bribed the DMV to get their license because they are legally blind. Comfortable to wear.
I light myself up like a Christmas Tree.
I get my 10,000 steps in every day, but sometimes that means I walk at night, and not everyone in my gated community has great night vision. I believe it is my job to make sure they see me coming. I use 4 Slapit devices and light myself up on my wrist and ankles. Everyone can see me, and they frequently roll down their car window to thank me for making it easy. I laughingly tell everyone, "If anyone hits me, they meant to."
Visibly Worth It
SlapLit LED bands are visible from quite aways away. Very convenient to carry in bag or pocket then use after it gets dark. Prefer flashing setting of the two; cars stop when I am waiting for the crosswalk in areas where street lights are not working well. Have been using regularly for a couple of weeks without charge so unsure on how long they last between charges. Would buy again and may buy a spare for guests to use.
Great upgrade from the original
Brighter, more comfortable and the lit area is twice as long as the original. Rechargeable so no batteries to change. The charge port has a rubber plug so it's waterproof to probably a couple of feet. Build quality seems very durable but only time will tell. Neighbors have stated they could see me from a couple of blocks away. So far I couldn't be more satisfied.
Great for kids
I still use an original can't wait to get a couple new ones . Great for keeping track of the kiddos on Halloween or out at night. It would be a plus of it was water proof. I'd definitely pay a little extra for that. Also. Add some retro-reflective material and these would be incredible. Thank you for the awesome product.
Worked great but one problem…
I cycle on the streets and used this on my ankle to keep my pants out of the chain and if,I pedal too fast it flies off. Of course it went into the road and was crushed, as were my hopes of retrieving it. But until that point it was very visible.
Slap lit Rechargeable LED
I have used these a few times now on my ankles while bike commuting. They are nice and bright. They have a flash mode which is also nice. I like that they are rechargeable.
