Nice gloves but palm material is thin
They're nice thin gloves and are great to keep you hands from getting sunburned or burning up in the heat. Wearing these gloves and some arm sleeves really helped working in Phoenix in the triple digits. Had these gloves for over a year and only complaint I've had recently has had to be in the last two or three months. The palm side of the gloves are really thin so you have to be careful not to get the gloves caught on something or grab anything that is too rough they start to wear out the palm quickly. For as much use as I've gotten out of them I think it's still worth the price and I've gotten my moneys worth out of them. If the palm area was made with a thicker material it would be a perfect glove to me but I will still order a new pair
Great protection, great fit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When hiking/climbing at high altitude, it's key to have something protecting the back of your hands from the sun. These fit great, are super light, and give you full dexterity for scrambling/climbing. I also find them pretty amazing for clearing sweat from my brow and perfect for a quick "wipe" after a "farmer's blow". Just choose different locations. ;)
Sun Gloves on Pike's Peak
Awesome on the trail. Used during my summit to Pikes Peak and they performed perfectly.
light for summer and nice for fall
I decided it was about time I started protecting my hands from the sun - and purchased the chrome sun gloves. I tested them out on training hikes and then took them out for a week in early September in the Cascades of WA. The days were comfortable, but cool enough that wearing the gloves was nice both for sun protection and a little warmth. They fit well and I look forward to using them more next year.
Avoiding the burn !
I have always been outdoors. Especially hunting and fishing. Recently I was prescribed a medication making me very sensitive to the sun. I was able to cover up but left my hands exposed and in spite of liberal use of sunscreen was burned on the back of my hands. I discovered your chroma sun gloves and used them on my next fishing trip. No Burn !! despite being out all day. Thank you Outdoor Research !
Great Gloves
I have almost two years on a pair of these and they've held up remarkably well. One palm is finally showing wear but they've seen quite a bit of abuse in a variety of terrain, especially the Sonoran Desert. As advertised, they're comfortable to wear, breathe well, and have done a great job mitigating sun damage on my old, beat up hands. Extremely pleased with my purchase.
Fantastic!
fantastic gloves that fit perfect, great to use while hiking, biking and fly fishing were I find these gloves most excellent. They fit so good, are super comfortable and with having the finger tips exposed it's great for tying flies on - don't know how or why I did it before without them
Durable for light trail work
I LOVE these. I use them for trail work on the high Sierra in the summer for lighter maintenance. They have held up wonderfully after about a month of using a shovel nearly constantly. I'm honestly surprised at the durability and you can't beat the sub protection for your hands.
Best. Backpacking. Gloves. Ever.
These are great for backpacking, hiking, etc. I've bought several pairs. The palms wear out a little fast, and I had to replace a pair, but I love the touch/feel of the palm also so... catch 22. Other than that it would have been a 5 (maybe it still is..?)
Functional, not cute
They work - block the sun and protect my skin, but the seems aee thick and they are that comfortable because of the seems. They also arent cute, but i knew that when i bought them...OR makes great products, but everything doesn't have to be boring gray.
