Gave me awful blisters
Was excited to get these. They looked perfect to wear with dresses/"nicer outfits" especially for traveling and walking around towns. Wore them twice to beach and they felt good but there wasn't much walking in them. Then wore them for an hour walking around town and got the worst blood blisters on my heel. I didn't think I needed to go up a size(my heel looks like it fits perfectly) but apparently it's hitting on the edge of the sandal which is very hard. Going up a whole size would be way to big and unfortunately there's no half sizes so major bummer to have an expensive pair of sandals I can't even wear
I was so happy to receive these sandals. They are just what I needed and would be so useable for me. They are soo much narrower than my other tevas...I cannot wear them. Very disappointed. Teva seems to be narrowing their sandals, in general; but these were too much. It is getting so hard to find wider widths.
A bit loose for a narrow foot
I have a very narrow foot and found these to be a bit too loose in the straps, even while the sole was the right width. The straps are not adjustable and there is not a heel strap to hold them in place. The sole is well cushioned and has good arch support. They look great. I'm going to try to work with them, but they might have to go back if they consistently slide off my feet. The width seems to be a bit of a goldilocks situation. I can see these shoes would be too narrow for most people, but for those with narrow feet they might be perfect. Unfortunately, my feet are not quite in that window.
Way too narrow
I was really excited to see these in the box, but immediately upon removing them I could tell they were too narrow. And with nylon straps, they cut and squeezed my feet so bad just trying them on. I never buy "wide" shoes- my feet are average width- so I don't know why they would make them this way. Huge bummer.
Looks great but not comfortable to walk in
These sandals have great arch support and feel very comfortable when standing still. However, the strap design doesn’t offer enough stability while walking. My foot slides forward with each step, and I end up clenching the sandal with my toes to keep it on. Over time, this causes discomfort in my toes and feet. With some design tweaks, these could be excellent walking sandals. If the side straps sat lower and the top strap came down further—or was angled to better accommodate different foot widths—they’d offer much better support. I cannot recommend them for long term walking though.
Happy to have found!
Nice supportive sandal that will work for casual dresses and supportive walks. Fits well and is comfortable!
Aptly named
So comfortable and so low profile, perfect for packing!
Mahogany is more Brownish
I really wanted to give these sandals 5 stars because I love being a part of REI. But my last two purchases off their website caused some disappointment as the site did not do a great job of showing the actual color. But I kept both due too quality and really needed new hiking shoes and sandals. That said, I bought the Mahogany, and I am disappointed they are not as "burnt reddish" as the color shown because they would have been more fun for me...but the name of the color suggested they may be more brown and I was prepared for that (in a way). As for fit...they are a true women's size 7 and not too wide or narrow. I held them up to a pair of old Merrel sandals and near exactly the same size sole. Arch support good, and I will be using these sandals at Lake and Creekside. As well at at the High School indoor poolside. I will trek in these along the trout stream. Nice and lightweight. Overall, I highly recommend these sandals.
