seat post harness and dry bag for bikepacking
I purchased this harness seat bag in hopes that it would be big enough to use my large Revelate Terrapin (14liter) vented dry bag (I have broken the Revelate Terrapin 'fixed' buckles off twice when bumping them with my knee as I mount the bike). I wanted to just get the Salsa Saguaro seat-harness without the accompanying vented dry bag (not an option). This Salsa Saguaro is too small for a 'large' harness & bag. The construction is nice, stout fabric and well made with the buckling, rivoting, attachments. However the inner plastic hinge/flex is too stiff and the buckling would not comply with flexing it back toward the seat post and would remain pooched into the dry bag compartment compromising that space. With use it might soften up but I returned the bag set-up unused. If Salsa made the large size bigger (14+/- liter) I would definitely convert to this harness/dry bag as it's really nice to be able to stuff the vented dry bag full and tight and then insert that dry bag into the harness (as opposed to a non-removable dry bag). And the fact that the single side release 'floating' buckle dry bag retainer strap/buckle is less likely to break off when bumped makes it a better system (Revelate also went to this system).
