Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Fun to Wear
This shirt is one of the most comfortable and versatile shirts in my closet! I have been wearing it for workouts, yardwork, around the house, on walks, weekend hiking trips and on travel. It has become a go-to shirt. My shirt is a size small and I enjoy the loose fit. With a 32-inch bust I could wear an x-small which would provide a closer fit. The fabric is soft, breathable and dries quickly – very handy when exercising and traveling. The longer front and shorter back seems to help with ventilation, there are no shoulder seams to deal with under a pack and the arm hole design allows for lots of movement. I've recommended the Swiftland Running T-Shirt to all my active friends.
Cute, sporty shirt in flattering teal
I have to say that I love the feel of this shirt on my skin! The fabric is so light, and soft, and breathable, it is so comfortable and unobtrusive. I also love this version of teal - it is one of my favorite colors and tones as it works well with most of the colors in my wardrobe. My only, 2 slight complaints are that I wish the length of the shirt were longer in length, and the cut across my chest is not generous enough for normal-sized bust, overall. As an older woman, these short-waisted shirts are not always flattering to me. And I am not tremendous at a 34DD, but the cut across my chest needs a little more room - this makes the sleeves a bit tight in the arm pits. The neckline is comfortable but also could be a little more open. I've worn this shirt 4 times now - once doing house chores and laundry (which involves a lot of movements, lifting, sweating, etc and it held up well and the length did not matter to me), once for a neighborhood 5k run under a light jacket (it felt great that day), once for a casual brunch with jeans & sneakers (it looked good but the short length and tight chest really bothered me that day as I really wanted more coverage at my waist and room across), and once running errands, food shopping, etc with a jean jacket which was fine. I think I like the shirt best under a light jacket rather than on its own.
Size up and be aware of the unique hem lengths
Unfortunately I was not able to wear this shirt out on the trail, as it was too snug and oddly cut. Probably most noticeable to me was that the back of the shirt is shorter than the front, so it rides up and exposes a bit of the lower back. This is not ideal for carrying a hiking pack or even a day pack. I also would not feel comfortable going out in something so skin tight, so I do recommend sizing up one or maybe even two sizes. I would have enjoyed getting to wear this material, though. It's soft and sleek and would likely be moisture wicking. Sometimes athletic clothing feels cool to the touch, which I don't like much, but I am happy to report that this shirt is "normal temperature" against the skin. The shirt has interesting seams, particularly in the shoulder area. I didn't mind that appearance but it evokes the same type of "look" as raglan sleeves do.
Unwearable
I truly think I received a defective product. I wear a medium in all REI shirts and never had trouble before. This shirt fits everywhere but the length. The shirt length is absurdly short. The back of the shirt comes up even higher. When you compare the short that I received with the pictures of the short online, they don't match up. Online the shirt comes down below the waist and has a split hem on the sides. This shirt does not. Also looking at the seams on the shirt I have, they don't match up with the seams on the shirt shown online. It's a shame because the fabric feels so nice. I would love this in a properly cut shirt.
Great shirt!
I was excited to get a new short sleeve hiking shirt. When I first put it on, I was worried about the length of the shirt. Would it ride up above my hip belt. No! My worries were unfounded. The material is very soft, and I found that the shirt was not too tight or too loose. The medium fit me well. I spilled food on the shirt the first time I wore it. I rinsed it out and dried quickly. I hiked with it on a 70+ degree day with full sun. While the shirt was damp on my back after I took off my daypack, it wasn't wringing wet. You actually couldn't even see that shirt was wet. It wicked really well. I am going to purchase a couple more shirts.
Very light/airy
I’ve been using this top for a various activities. The first time I used it was for a four mile run. I wear a dog-running belt and was concerned that because the top is so light, it would be thin and make me “feel” the belt. But, no such problem. It stayed on without riding up or causing any friction irritation sitting under the belt. I next used it for the gym where I did some light weights and then for indoor cycling. It did great both times, no friction spots on the sleeve or waist area. Lastly, it doesn’t seem to have any issues coming out of the wash. Some other tech tops need extra soaking or special detergents to come out “clean” of the wash and haven’t noticed any issues with this top after three uses/washes. Very nice, well made, comfortable top.
Great semi lose workout top!
I loved how light weight this shirt is. It was very moisture wicking and had a nice cut for someone with a shorter torso. I primarily wore this biking as I dont love how tight jerseys are. It sat nicely and had a flattering cut for someone that is curvier in the hips and midsection. Extremely practical shirt
Changed the Design
I bought a couple of the Swiftland running shirts a couple of years ago and love them so wanted to add some new colors to my rotation. However, they have since changed the design of the shirt. It used to be slightly longer in the back than in the front and the seams were almost non-existent so as to not cause chafing. However, the shirt is now shorter in the back than in the front which makes the fit very strange. Also, the placement of the seams now makes it so a pack could rub them the wrong way. Returning the shirt until they can come out with a better design.
Swiftland Style Gets Revamped
I'll start by saying Swiftland is the only line of shirts I run in. They're also my first choice for hiking and kayaking and I frequently use the long-sleeved versions during summer for sun protection. I love the fit, mobility and how lightweight and quick-drying they are. Plus they're not see-through. So I didn't hesitate to order this newer version in Cove Green. Color is great, just as pictured. The seams are more noticeable, the underarm gusset has been expanded so it forms two separate lines down the front and back instead of joining into a single side seam. This is fine but you do 'feel' the shirt more and it's more fitted vs flowy. My typical size M still fits comfortably, but it's not as loose as the previous version. My main gripe is that this newer version is much shorter. The back is a good 1-2 inches shorter than the front, which is also 1-2 inches shorter than my older Swiftlands. So on the one hand, all those fancy leggings designed to show off your backside can enjoy their time in the sun, but I don't like how my back is fully exposed when I bend over to stretch or just tie my shoes. TLDR: I'd say this revamp is not as versatile as the previous iteration and I wouldn't choose it for any activity besides running. Unfortunately my shirt arrived damaged and had to be returned. Hopefully this review highlights some of the differences if you're familiar with the previous version. I'm not against this updated style, but I'm genuinely on the fence as far as reordering. Maybe if they go on sale?
Be sure to read the reviews!
Normal length front and super short back. This was a rare design fail for REI. I did not read the description closely and missed the odd line inserted about not bunching up in back if you wear a pack. I will be returning to get the active pursuit shirt in short sleeves that I know and love. If you want your lower back to show when wearing than this is the shirt for you.
