The Best
I float between sizes in almost every brand I buy. But with the environ bibs, I they fit well when other brand’s size either run too large or too small. Sure, I’m not slim. I have to unbutton/unzip these when I sit all the way down with my knees up to my chest, but I have to do that with everything I wear, unless it has an elastic waist band. But the thing I love the most about these bibs is that they come in a short version. I haven’t found another brand that does this. There are enough pockets and they are in the right spot. The fabric is light and strong and wind and weather proof. Great for both touring and resort use. Definitely my favorite. Would highly recommend.
Great bib for warmer days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been rocking a different pair of bibs for most this season, but that pair has been much warmer than expected. I was looking for something more lightweight and breathable for a trip where temp would be much closer to freezing than what I’m skiing in most of the year. The Environ bibs fit that bill perfectly. They were a great fit, allowed for a ton of movement and kept me in a great temp range for the whole trip. Plus, the green looked great with my orange Stio jacket. My one issue is that the venting isn’t as handy as other pants and bibs I’ve used, since it starts up at the hips due to the full length zippers, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for the other functions.
Solid
I am 5’9” and 160lbs. Medium short fits well. Fabric protection is great. I have skied them in wet and warm conditions and they kept me dry. Side vents down the legs are excellent for dumping heat quickly. I have skied them in cold powder and the high waist of the low bib kept me warm. Great pockets. Looks sharp with my Environ jacket. Thanks Stio for offering different lengths.
Perfect bibs.
I had the Environ pants a number of years ago, and then bought the bibs a few years ago when the pants got too chewed up with ski cuts. The bibs are comfortable and great fitting--not too tight, not too loose. I love Gore-Tex and am hesitant to believe non GT items are waterproof, but the Environ bibs have withstood deep powder days at Alta and rain storms at Stratton--these things have been waterproof all day long. Of course, you need to take care of your gear; like all waterproof gear, wash them periodically and they will stand up to any precipitation. Love the full-length leg zips and fleecy pockets. The Men's fly with the two-way zip makes taking a leak very easy. For the money I don't think there are better bibs on the market.
Pretty Disappointed
I bought these bibs pre-covid and didn't really get much of a chance to use them until the last two years. I found they wet right through - sitting on the chair lift I could see the wet spots on my thighs . . . the pants didn't repel moisture at all. Then today, I unzipped them and noticed they two spots where the first "fuzzy" layer had worn through at the knees - I wear a couple neoprene knee braces - nothing metal so I was pretty surprised to see that I had a couple holes working their way through.
Best Ski Bib ever - with durability concerns
these are amazing. Best design ever, made me give up my arcteryx bibs I’ve had forever. Unfortunately, my pair have already developed holes after around 40 days. I haven’t had the same experience with the gore Tex pro alternatives.
comfy and high quality with a couple gripes
These are super comfortable and clearly high quality bibs. I have a couple personal design gripes such as not liking the faded black color, the white trim lines, and the type of waist high bib. Their work-style bibs don't come in different lengths. Also, the fly zipper (for guys) is ridiculous and unusable.
SNOWBOARDERS BEWARE - NOT A GOOD CHOICE
The hems on these bibs, presumably the pants too, are not designed for snowboarding boots. The hem is too narrow to comfortably fit over a boot. You have to wrestle them over. It seems Stio are not really fans of boarding, based on their designs. Wish I'd known this before purchasing; buyers remorse.
Run Tight in Waist
I would normally wear a large but had to move up to an x-large as this style of bib overall runs tight in the just above the waist. Probably a good fit for younger slim people but of older guys with a little extra padding you'll want to upsize. Quality of the product is excellent.
Great Bibs
The Environ Bib is the best fitting bib that I have owned. I really like the full zip sides which make it easy to adjust my knee braces. I do wish they had thigh pockets on both sides. Also, internal thigh vents would be nice. Overall, I very pleased with the Environ Bib.
