Cotopaxi  Allpa Getaway Duffel Bag - 55 L

I love this duffle! It is a great size for a long weekend. My only negative was that the plastic snaps on the wrap that holds the handles together were very difficult to snap shut & then one completely come off when I unsnapped them. I'm just going to add some velcrow to fix it. Other than that, its a perfect bag!

I bought the Allpa "Getaway" 55L duffel May 30, 2025 thinking it was the same as the Allpa 50L duffel I ordered Feb. 28, 2025. My mistake! While a nice duffle, like the original, it is missing two features I really like. It does not have the zippered bottom for dirty clothes, and lacks a small zippered side pocket which I found handy for accessing small items. I would give the the original 5 stars. I subtracted two for the loss of these two features. If you didn't know the difference and expect them I think You would rate it 5 stars.

Love the size and that the backpack straps can be removed when not needed. Only wish there was at least one bigger pocket internally or externally. There is a mesh on the inside, but not quite large enough for needs. Definitely recommend the packing cubes for gear you want to keep separate.

The quality seems very good. Took it on it's first two camping trips this summer. The zipper seems to be durable, the material was great. Having the backpack straps helped with loading - keeping my hands free so less trips into the camper! Wishing I had bought the bigger one so it would fit my pillow too, but that is a personal problem, not an issue!

Like everything else I own from Cotopaxi this bag is great. Top notch construction quality with thoughtful touches that make it a great bag. One touch I particularly like is the way the backpack straps connect, instead of using a quick clip or type of manually run straps every time the bag uses a easy rapid connection that I’ll not do justice with my description (but it is a creative solution that’s just works). Materials are top notch, and it’s my go-to travel bag.

I ordered and returned this duffel. It was heavier and stiffer than I expected. I needed something lighter for a safari with strict weight limits for luggage. Even though it has straps like a backpack, it would be nice to have a single shoulder strap like a traditional duffel. I usually have a small day pack as well as the duffel bag. Even though I returned it, I thought the bag was well made and sturdy.

I am always blown away by this company. Although I ended up returning the item for a smaller bag simply because I am 5'3, I loved the craftsmanship that comes with every item from Cotopaxi. Furthermore, the amount of pockets is always spot on as there are never too many to be overwhelming but just enough for convenience.

We purchased the bag for a week long trip and it was perfect. The backpack feature made navigating airports easy and the size is just right to fit all your gear and still fit in the overhead compartment, as well as not take up to much space in a car with all your camping supplies!
