I decided to leave a review to balance out the ledger for these. I have a big butt and short legs, wide hips and a small waist-- it is really hard for me to find a bikini bottom that looks sexy without being too much because my big butt is so lascivious, honestly. These bottoms look great on me. They're like tiny tiny little micro shorts and they're kinda retro, and they're sporty so they won't be dangerous to be active in. They cover just enough, and the cut is just right to flatter the tops of my thighs. They don't look weird on my stomach or crotch, they look almost like they were meant for me. I am glad REI had these in-store-- I never would have considered this shape, but when I tried them on I was honestly wow-ed. Maybe they're just for the curvier and more well-endowed in the booty region among us. Don't foreclose these as an option, but like most swimwear, trying them on in the store will be the move.

This was not flattering like it was in the photos. The bottoms look like a diaper or over sized underwear in person. They seemed cheaply made for the amount charged. I ordered an XS and a S returned both. I’m 5’4 113lb XS fit but looked awful and uncomfortable. The size S fit but did not look good at all. I’m athletic build and 32” hips and they both seemed really tight on my hips and loose on the butt.

I typically do not write reviews but since I am only seeing negative reviews on this swim bottom, I would like to balance them with a positive review. I LOVE the fit of these bottoms. They actually cover my assets and are retro feeling, sexy, sporty, and cute! Yes, they are a low waist but that is exactly how they are pictured on the models. FYI, I am an hourglass body type (more of a 6-8 dress size typically) but I have started wearing a Large in almost all Prana (and other athletic wear brands) lately. I feel like all the sizing has shrunk or changed so now I am wearing Large bottoms but really, I am not a Large woman. I am saying this to encourage other women to size up and follow the sizing charts and simply feel good in the clothing rather than get stuck on sizing.

Wasn’t sure how to rate this because the quality of material is great. But I am normally a size M, but I have a big ole booty, I sized up to a large knowing this, and being okay with my cheeks out, but these are soooo tiny in the butt. They fit my hips, but were so tight across my butt it cut my booty into 4 quadrants, tightly. I’m so sad because these are adorable. If you have a normal sized booty, buy em!

These run big. Get one size smaller than you are. Also, the elastic around the top is very thin and flimsy. I bought these as surf bottoms and they don’t stay on while duck diving under waves because the elastic is super flimsy. I’ve only worn them twice and I feel them already wearing out. Bummer.

For the right body this suit is perfection. I personally prefer this type of bottom due to my curves. They look sexy but also provide good coverage. This suit was way over my budget but I splurged because I love it so much. I definitely recommend trying on in store. Great color and quality.

Agree w the other reviewer, the bottoms will look horrible on anyone who doesn’t have a flawless body and flat stomach. They do look like a diaper with weird bunching in the crotch area. Prana needs to make these bottoms in a flattering fit bc this bikini has so much potential!

I love these! Unlike some of the other positive reviewers, I am not curvy but have a pretty straight up and down athletic build and this style suits my body perfectly. I’m 5’9, 140 pounds and got a size M.

I'm a big fan of sporty swimsuit bottoms and it's a bonus that these have a stylish retro look. These fit great right out of the package and I can't wait to wear them on an upcoming trip.

Great bottom with more coverage than most suits these days. I returned because the waist was too tight for me. Other reviews said it was a bit loose but I found it to be tight.
